BA allocates seats for a fee
27th September, 2009

British Airways passengers have been told if they want to sit together they will have to pay.

Families and friends will have to pay to choose seats on BA aircraft from October.

The charges will affect those wanting to sit together and people with a preference for window, aisle or emergency exit seats.

Prices will range from £10 per person for European economy flights, to £60 for long haul trips in business class.

The move follows BA's decision to cut luggage allowances and abolish free meals on short flights.

damn as a frequent traveler i must say that seems a bit much. i guess airlines need to do what they need to in this recession though.

At least things like that wont affect people travelling to Amsterdam from the UK, i mean, do we really need to sit together, or have a meal on such a short but sweet flight.... i think not :-).... all i need is a book, MP3 player and a nice cold can of beer, up, down and your there :-)
Excuse me while I light my Spliff.....
