hey folks..

sorry i didnt keep up with the live updates.. trip just started to get real foggy and not much time to sit down and write up something that made sense.

i got home safe and sound and the flight home was nice and easy.

a few other things i found out from my trip.

Homegrown fantasy is no longer selling any cheese until the cup. the budtender said that after the last batch, that would be it until the cannabis cup as he "sold too much throughout the summer"

on the other hand the silver pearl from them is absolutely amazing. buds are just picture perfect and they are very well grown.

the og kush haze from hgf was decent.. nothing crazy tho.

also went back to grey area on the last day. purchased 1 g outdoor kush . 1 g silver bubble and 1 g big buddah cheese. all were properly grown and smoked nicely. cheese was def bbc and was a nice niight cap one day. the outdoor kush was completely organic and was grown in holland. i was very surprised how much kush taste came out of these nugs.. even as an outdoor sample.

grey area had taken la women off the menu as well.. not sure if its just until the next batch or what .. but it was unavailable on wednesday.

also went to stix once more. cool shop. i really like the one on utrechstraat. very nice budtender lady and good hash. the best 2 hashes of the trip were caramello and temple balls from stix. almost hands down for the 2 of them. there alegria weed was nice and tasty and clear high and the diesel was decent. not the best diesel around but good.

we past rokerij one day as well.. bought 1 g nl 5 haze . it was a nice haze. decent but not the best. lady who served drinks was sorta a bitch.. not to us but alot of others in the shop.

bought alot more silver pearl on my last day at hgf and smoked in a few more shops.

had a beer in greenhouse effect which was pretty nice. big seating area at the back thats pretty comfy.

also hunters bar wasnt bad... more club type feel then greenhouse effect tho.

for food we ate at lots of terrific places.

for indonesian.. try out a place called tempoe doeloe... its on utrechstraat. right down from stix. make a reservation as it gets very busy.. but it was a terrific rice table. friendly service as well.

restaurant de kas... kind of a weird one. you must really like veggies and its a tad expensive. not one of my favorites although it was cool to eat in a greenhouse.

burger bar.. fuckin awesome. ate it twice

eat at joes- awesome menu.. meals tasted like a meal you would eat at home.. we ate there twice as well.

casa di david.. nice wood burning pizza's and homemade pastas.. fresh salads as well and terrific wine selection. located on the singel opposite twede kamer.

balraj - good as always.. cash only establishment. awesome hot curry.

momo - japanese restaurant. a bit high end. very young crowd. they try hard on presentation. food was decent but expensive. the most expensive meal of the trip.

new york pizza still wins for best slice of pizza in amsterdam for me.

wok to walk was decent. not as good this time for me for some reason.

cafe de jaren. huge patio with awesome view that sits out onto the amstel. right down by the water and cold beers. gets a bit busy tho.

bars throughout red light district = fuckin expensive. its fun and all to get a few shots while walking around the area but damn they charge an arm and a leg.. close to 5 euro at some places for a shot of tequila. old sailor must have the grimiest bathroom in amsterdam.

brewerij t'ij and in de wildeman are decent little bars. my dad liked them alot.

Been here as well, very nice, especially if you can get an upstairs window table.

Glad you're home safe, Cheese. It sounds like you had a fantastic time :)

I can't believe you're yet ANOTHER person to report that the Silver Pearl from HGF was so impressive! Why the fuck did the budtender recommend this to me as a first smoke!?? Maybe he was having fun with me *shrug* ;)

Dude...Burger Bar has one of the best burgers I've EVER eaten. Boner should be getting a commission from them as I went there upon his recommendation...and I also ate there twice! The Mrs and I absolutely loved the place. We were both pleasantly surprised when the owner recognized us on the second visit and was really friendly. That place is just effin' awesome :D

the silver pearl is just a very nicely grown sample of weed. i wouldnt say it will straight out floor you, but it does pack a bit of a punch. i liked it so much because you could tell it was grown with care, the nugs burned perfect and the taste was very good.

Sound like you both had a blast, glad some of my recommendations went down well, I love the Caramella from Stix but most people ignore it and go straight for the Temple Ball.
