Can someone explain how these bags work? I thought dogs could sniff through anything, not to mention the smell your fingers leave on the outside of the bag?

Yeah could someone clarify this? I have never brought any back before but this time I am tempted to just stick a few grams somewhere in my hand luggage and if anyone finds it I will say I didn't know it was there.

You don't actually get dogs by flights coming from dam do you? I would have thought they would be off looking for things more worthwhile.

To be honest, and from a trusted second hand source who does Amsterdam <==> Gatwick at least twice a week for work, carrying it at the moment may not be the best idea, expecially if your departure point is Schiople.

The way he described it was that since they [security @ Schiolple airport] have 'egg on their face' (and a probably good talking to by their bosses) over incidents that happened over the festive period, they are 'meaner' and more 'theatrical' presently than ever in their task (i'm making no comment as to if these changes actually make air travel safer - its the wrong forum :) )

Regrettably your in a lose-lose situation - its not like buds or ground weed or hash could be mistaken in an x-ray scanner, and trying to 'hide' it in something that obviously blocks x-rays is likely to get checked presently.

As with any 'media disaster' once the spotlight turns to something else (eg an apple product launch) things there will quietly go back to normal, but for now 'the Dutch' seem to be more cautious than they normally would be

Oh and don't put it in your underwear - for one thing its unhygienic :)

Like another thread says - post it - with the last residents name on - at least then there is some plausible deniability that it wasn't for you!

Maybe things will have calmed down a bit by the time I go in Easter. Still I should be sensible I guess. One mate once managed to get a half ounce all in 3 gram baggies shoved down a cream lotion bottle. You reckon they would check that? Should I have just said that?

Rather than or in addition to smelly proof bags try those bags designed for people to pick up their dog's mess (shit) to take home and dispose of. A friend of mine who deals swears by them aparantly they've a chemical on them that just soaks up the smell. Propably wouldnt put my herb straight in them perhaps in a normal bag then double or treble bag as they're not expensive.

Just a suggestion btw as I've never used them myself.

i too am off to the dam soon, bags r semi-permeable meaning they can eventually let smell throo, smell proof gud idea, thinking bring it throo not a good idea, i reckon if i post it (previous name off course)treble baggy the lot spraying aftershave (alcohol 2 kill smell) then vaseline (makes it non permeable) on each bag then in a baccy tin 2 try to fool xray scanner at post office. don't know if i shudve sed all that but they aint stupid i spose. im just wondering if any1 can shed like on what kind of checks the posted item is likely to go through, how i can prepare to avoid this and if a baccy tin would actually do anything to fool xrays or is there nething else i can use?

I would say probably not, u'd likely get thrown in a room for an hour n left 2 sweat then given a slap on the wrist tho cannabis is a class b again so if u think of it that way itd be like getting caught with 4 gs of speed, i wouldnt fance my chances, all really depends on how much of a ballbag the customs officer is, and with 4gs its a little harder to say i forgot i had it, or it was just a illy keepsake.... :?
