Post by Justboy »

Yo. just wondering if anyone has heard this album before (dub side of the moon), its basically a cover of dark side if the moon done in a reggae style, some of it is really good, and perfect for smoking to.

I came across it when i was in amsterdam over the summer, think it was in doors coffeeshop and i've been looking for what it was ever since...but finally found it. whole album is on youtube if you wanna check it out.

Easy Star All-Stars have done three great "covers" albums - the first one, Dub Side Of The Moon, I first heard in Amnesia, and I honestly thought I was tripping out because it's so well done, and so close to the original in places... I sat there thinking, "Wow! Pink Floyd's never sounded like this before - this must be some serious mind-bending shit I'm smoking today!"

It wasn't until the guitar solo section in Money (that just wasn't there) that I actually realised the deal - I asked the budtender and he showed me the CD. I found a copy on Ebay the minute I got back!

They have also done Radiohead’s ‘OK Computer’ in this style, called "Radiodread" and another favourite of mine, "Easy Star's Lonely Hearts Dub Band". No prizes for guessing where this one came from... ;)

Check 'em out on http://www.easystar.com or http://www.myspace.com/easystar

Seriously good chill out music.
