I'm paying the airfare so I better be going.
I have a Meet and Greet for 9:30am on the 11th at Hunters ( Warmoesstraat 24, not 35 ). It will probably be followed by a slow paced little crawl.
I'll have another on the 23rd, time and venue to be decided between now and then.
Since I will be staying in Haarlem I will have several at Birdy. This will give folks an excuse/chance to see a smaller town's coffeeshop scene. I usually actually meet folks at the Burger King in the train station then take the short walk to Birdie.
If you will be in town over this period, keep you eye on the Whos In Town page. I'll try to have everything posted by the first week of November.
Anyone that is going that isn't posted, get your dates to me.
I might as well preach a sermon.
Meet some new friends or catch up with old ones, plan a Meet and Greet.
As I see it a Meet and Greet is a win, win, win situation.
1. Nobody shows up. You have spent an hour in a coffeeshop of your choice.
This goes in my win column.
2. One or more people show up. You meet some new friends in a great atmosphere. Yep, another win.
3. Everyone in town shows up and it turns into a coffeeshop crawl.
This might be the biggest win of all.
If you wish to identify yourself to possible attendees, a cheap and easy solution. A rolling paper with your username written on it stuck to a table edge, ashtray, your shirt, or forehead works well.
Enjoy

It also gives me free room and board for my stay, so yes much less expensive. Plus I get to go to a Dutch lady's ( my hostess ) 83rd birthday party.Kingdoc wrote:Have a great time FBN,Haarlem is a good choice! less expensive & like someone says earlier far less hussle bustle than amsterdam.
On the subject of Haarlem. I have a Toke and Talk at Birdy in Haarlem on the 21st. I will get to smoke with Sir Ian of Tokesville.
I'll be at the Burger King in the Haarlem train station from 11:30 - 12:00. It's only a 5 minute walk to Birdy. Once I get there I'll probably stay a while. They have free WiFi and I'll have my netbook. Though I could probably be talked into a walk over to Indica after I post my 20th's trip report. That would sort of make it a mini crawl. Hell, we could throw in a few others and make it a real crawl.
If I miss you at the station Birdy is on a couple maps.
Number 1 on this one. http://www.thekaart.nl/en-netherlands-h ... 179_0.html
Number 3 on this one. http://www.black-arts.org/~reatta/HaarlemMap.jpg
