A-Train Hotel

Post by spidergawd »

Hi, leaving on sunday, not booked hotel yet but seems like plenty still available.

Has any one got any recent experiences staying at the A-Train Hotel please?
Smoking, noise etc. will be much appreciated.

:)

I was going to stop there a few years ago so emailed them about smoking and was told there's plenty of coffeeshops you can smoke in, this was about the room with the garden as well.

I stayed there for two nights in Nov 2007 in the 5 person family room. It was in the back so no street noise. Great location right across from Ccentraal Station if you are going on trips out of town. A good breakfast was included and the price included the 5% city tax that some places charge extra. It is most definitely NOT smoker friendly and they don't accept bookings of 4 or more males only.

Thanks for the info guys, my strong preference is for one that is smoker friendly, the same area and not too far above that price so I shall keep looking for now. I don't want any thing too fancy or outrageous so I won't have too bad a conscience going with out my better half (again).

Peace :)

Stayed at the A Train last weekend and thought it was decent.
Location was the main reason I went for it but was impressed with how clean and tidy everything was.
£90 for a double room with a tasty buffet breakfast can't go wrong really.

I've just looked at their web-site,they do have smoking rooms though say they cannot guarentee there availability. So it seems it's a gamble on whether or not you'll get one but i always think that if they have smoking rooms they're not going to be too hot on the non smoking rooms, smoke detectors? nothing a plastic carrier bag and some sellotape won't sort out, failing that the toilet door open, blow smoke towards door and extract will gobble it up.
