Storing bud
Storing bud
What would be the ideal way of storing bud for a couple of months at least without losing it potency?? thinking about investing in one of them air tight jars and keep it away in the dark

The jar os a good idea. Just make sure its not wet.
Heres a little guide about harvesting and curing. The storing is just the same steps as curing

The jar method is good for curing, but I would not use this method for long term storage, basically because the bud will continue to cure. The end results may/will be dust.
For long term storage, you need to remove all oxygen and light, period. The best and simplest way is to use a vacuum packaging machine, like the ones used to store food. Place the bud in the bag made specifically for this purpose. Place the bag inside an airtight container, then put it in the freezer. When you are ready for a re-up, remove the baggy and let it sit out at room temperature and not in direct sunlight for a day or so. Cut a slit in the baggy to allow the bud to breath and to release some of the moisture accumulated by the melting of ice crystals. The ice crystals are formed by the residual moisture remaining from the curing process. Note: experts recommend that cured bud have around 7% moisture content. I don't know how to sufficiently measure the moisture content of bud, but I do know that when I break bud and it crumples like dust, it's over cured.
Hope this helps.
Peace

The very best and only recommended method by the W.L.S. (We Love Smoking Pot) committee is a well crafted 4 step technique, as follows:
1. Collect all the marajabingo you would like to store
2. Wrap it all in as many rizla as it takes (ensuring its air tight)
3. Insert a roach
4. Light it you panzy!

save and wash the plastic microwaveable containers that you get your takeaway in these days and use those as storage(very similar to the tubs i see in coffeeshops).....an egg fried rice container will hold about an ounce without crushing the buds too much....and you can have an air of smug by recycling and being enviromentally green......why spend money when you can do stuff like that......curing jars are real cheap in ASDA(walmart to our colonial brethren) at the moment if you're looking for the lock-top type

yes and yes, but i would say glass tooPuffin13 wrote:Store in a light and air tight container
i am oldish and old-fashioned and really really really do not believe that plastic containers are good for you and your healthechc1 wrote:save and wash the plastic microwaveable containers that you get your takeaway in these days and use those as storage
sorry but that's just me
so for me glass jars which are sealable and light-tight and air-tight should do the trick
i have never gone the refrigerator route, but nothing i have ever had has lasted long enough to bother really, i suppose if you live in the netherlands and have access to weed and hash and come across something really really nice and you want to keep it for whatever reason then i can see where a refrigerator would come into the story, certainly a nice problem to have ...
