ok ,, 1st post . hello . i've been told that the tobacco ban which is in force here in the uk is also enforcable in the coffee shops of amsterdam . for example ,, you can buy weed , roll a joint , as long as you dont put tobacco in it . is this true ? if so ,, how do they police it ? youd never smell tobacco over the weed , so who would know . ? if it is law , how strict are the cafe owners on implementing the law ?
And finally ,, do i really wanna put tobacco in it !!!! ,, what a lightweight ,, lol .
so many qustions in 1 post . thanks in advance for any replies .

You can find the answers to all your questions in more depth by doing a search but basically... Yes it's illegal to smoke tobacco in bars, coffeeshops, restraunts etc. It's not illegal to smoke weed though if it is not mixed with tobacco. It's also allowed to have a seperate sealed smoking area for tobacco on the premises. However, many coffeeshops and bars in amsterdam may tolerate tobacco in joints if you are discreet and keep all baccy or fags off the tables. Have a look round and see what other people are doing or ask the budtender.

Personally, I hate tobacco and never ever use it. I'll always choose a pure joint if given the option. If someone handed me a mixed spliff and said "Hit this!!", I probably would, though
Tobacco is tolerated in shops, but just be intelligent about it. Don't leave your bag of tobacco on the table in plain view. Grab what you need and put it away.
IMO, if you can survive without the tobacco, do it! A pure joint is one of the best tasting gifts from God...ever. Why taint that with plain ol' tobacco??

You will certainly enjoy it bonkers! Have a search bud as there are a few coffeshops that are strict about it, but there is some great info in the threads here.billybonkers wrote:well ,, all we smoke is soap bar here . tobacco is a neccessity im afraid . really good weed is very hard to come by . mostly its home grown , and not very good . its a rare occasion i get to smoke really good grass . ive a feeling im gonna enjoy the dam !!
Shame about the soapbar... Next spring, do some guerrilla gardening and grow your own pal, or set up a grow room over the winter.
Soapbar is like the polluted shandy of the cannabis world, you are going to be flat on your back, utterly battered fro most of your trip, well that’s my prediction anyway. Enjoy!

Oh, I'm fully aware of that. Believe me, I'm certainly not putting anyone down for their decision to use tobacco. If that's what you're used to doing then go for it. I'll still give you a high five and we'll share a pure spliffMarco wrote:I hear you but its really a cultural thing.
Personally, I just don't see the need for it. Weed tastes better and doesn't contain all the garbage and chemicals that commercial tobacco seems to have. If you can get away with not using it why wouldn't you *shrug*?

hello M4M , i agree completely with your sentiments , but, as i said in another post somewhere , here in west central scotland , my smoking is pretty much limited to low grade soap bar . tobacco is a neccessity , not a choice ! trust me , i'd much rather be smoking good weed , but its not widely available sadly . roll on january when i get to the dam . am like a kid at xmas here thinking about it !!!metal4mullets wrote:Oh, I'm fully aware of that.
