travel suggestions Please...

Post by Bob2 »

Hopefully off to amsterdam for a few days leaving on 30th oct. was let down twice last week when i had another trip booked to amsterdam. going with someone different this time but theyve phoned me and cant find there passport so its a 50 50 weather he finds it, so im bloody paranoid. there is NO BLOODY WAY im going to miss it this time no matter what. last 8 trips were by car very cheap easy and simple, no car now and odds on cant get someone else to take there car. rail and sail looks a little complicated ( i have a talent to get lost easily ) so flying looks the next easiest, stansted seems best easy jet 100ish pounds. but am i missing something an easy way to get to amsterdam live near dover ferry port and train would be easiest way but cant find any direct trains only changing trains in Brussels looks the only way. i need ideas Please any are welcome, have just a week to find and book the best solution. Thanks

This info might be WELL OUT OF DATE as it was nearly 15 years ago since I used it, but Eurolines coaches used to do VERY cheap trips to Amsterdam. I only did it once and it was nightmarishly long, but a fantastic laugh. Everyone on the bus was going for the same reasons, plenty had smoke to share at the various stops we made, and everyone got soo drunk... It was a real giggle, but way to long for me to repeat. I paid something daft like £5-£15 each way, but I don't remember exactly how much.

Worth a look Stu, don't miss your trip bud, its better going solo IMO... :D

LILLE FLANDRES - 30/10/09 16:08 ANTWERPEN CENTRAA - 30/10/09 17:54

That Calais / Amsterdam coach thing is still six num bumming hours man, dont do it.
100 quid - Stanstead got to be the only option in my humble opinion.

Glad you got faced for the weekend anyway stuart, I got a nice bit of cheeze from 420 (I think) on Monday and Me, Cisco and his pal also called stuart sparked up a nice one with all the ACD in mind. :)
What a long strange trip it is.
