My first coffee shop was close to where we stayed.

Rather than make it the 1st thing I did as soon as I got out of Central station, I took my wives hand and lead her down the damrak towards our hotel in Liedsplien. Unknown to her I was sneakily eyeing up the CS I wanted to try out.

After getting booked in to our hotel we took a wander around Liedsplien, up an alleyway where I knew Rookies would be. It was a nice little place where everyone seemed over the age of 30. This I thought was ideal for the wife as it was around our age group and everyone seemed to be in pairs and engrossed in there own conversations.

I ordered a gram of Rookies at 8.90euro this was mostly Sativa and gave me a nice high buzzing feeling. Unknown to me my wife (no smoker) was finding it a little stuffy and Smokey and wanted to leave. I found it a pleasant smell.

We went for a wander and again I lead her up another alley where I knew Dolphins would be. I made out I was well pleased as I had mentioned a visit to this place prior to our visit, and off we went in.

Rather than look at the menu I decided that I now wanted to try an indica and asked for the heaviest stuff they had, I was given a bag of White Dolphin 10euro a gram. I then decided I wanted to keep this stuff for bedtime and proceed to roll with the weed from Rookies. I was then approached by barmaid and asked to smoke downstairs as it was mixed with tobacco. So off we went and although the stairs were steep the seating was great, big comfy couches and weird décor. Again the missus was feeling a little sick with all the smoke so I suggested we leave. As we left I looked at the menu and noticed the white dolphin was Sativa and not indica, how pissed off was I.

The missus was complaining of a severe headache and needed to have a lie down, at this point I grumbled that I could have arranged a meet and greet if I knew she was going to do that. She then told me to go for a wander. This was about 4pm so I gathered my map of CS which I printed prior to leaving and made my way to Mellow yellow.

After wandering past rookies a few times I started to get my bearings with the how streets worked and finally got to Mellow Yellow after 45 mins. I asked for the strongest indica and got a gram of LA Confidential (didn’t like the taste of this stuff) and a gram of Blueberry (tasted nice and smooth and didn’t hurt the throat one bit).

The place seemed to be filled with lots of locals who knew each other and the atmosphere was relaxed with jokes amongst them.

I then decided to leave and took the wrong turning when I came out. I walked for about an hr completely wasted until it dawned on me when I noticed all the road signs leading to ring way etc!! All I knew was Liedsplien and I didn’t even know if I could pronounce it correctly and although I had the CS map it didn’t go far enough down to see what road I was on. I then began to notice the paths, high trees, darkness and paranoia started to kick in. I approached a lady at a cash point and asked if I was on the right direction for Liedsplien and she laughed and said NO!! You need to turn around, walk back up to the round about, turn left then walk about 3 miles and I should approach it.

Fuck me I thought, this has taken me over an hour, another hour back then 3 miles further on it’ll be well past 8pm before I am back. I then thought I better text the missus so I told her I was lost and how I think I am on the right road back. She thought I was taking the piss and wasn’t to pleased when I told her I wasn’t. By the way her head was still thumping but I didn’t give a fuck as my feet were fucking killing me at that point.

Anyway I got back to the hotel just before 8pm and sat down for an hour rubbing my feet and taking earache for being a fanny and getting lost. Her head was still thumping and I said I would go and hunt for a pizza and bring her something back. I told her I would only be in the square and wouldn’t get lost. So off I went and again drifted on the back streets to find a pizza place. I found one and as I was coming out I saw that Rokerij was right opposite so in I went and bought some old school afghan and a space muffin which must have weighed a 1LB and tasted shit.

This time I didn’t get lost and returned safely with a hot pizza and a wasted head. The next day she was feeling better and we wandered about as tourists and as I have plenty weed going in to a CS wasn’t a priority. At night we went in the RLD and I bought a pre rolled joint to smoke which got me fairly wasted, I was impressed with it as I planned to avoid buying pre rolled.

The next day I went back into Rookies and bought some white widow and in the evening on our 2nd visit to RLD I went into the old church CS and bought some Jack Herrer and smoked that which again gave a nice stoned feeling.

In the time I was in the RLD I was approach 5 times with offers of cocaine, this freaked the missus out the 1st time but she got used to it and noticed dealers didn’t stop you or hassled you, a polite no was enough.

They were some horrors on display in the RLD and a few stunners who tried to get me in through the door regardless of the missus being with me, one dark girl even wanted the wife, but that’s another story.

So all in all I have had a great time, some lovely smoke and plan to get back over as soon as the missus will allow me to go off on my own.

I just got back myself this afternoon, so I hope to write a bit about it over the weekend.

Honestly mate its lovely to have the nearest and dearest along, but in my experiance getting lost is far less stressfull if you are on your own and no one is waiting for you, because if on your own you cant be lost, only not quite sure where you are right now.
