I have never been that lucky with the Amnesia Haze...the only 2 times i bought it, i found it to be very dry and quite harsh on the throat. But i always hear people raving about it so i'm sure it is just me!
The best haze i have had would have been Neville's Haze from De Kuil/420 a couple of years ago.

I don't doubt that SSH is also called Amnesia Haze in some countries. However, the Amnesia Haze that won the 2004 Cannabis Cup was from Soma Seeds. It is listed in his catalog and in the 2009 High Times Ganja Guide, page 84. That article lists the genetics of AH as well. There is also an artical on SSH on page 66 of the same HighTimes issue.
So for me, the real question is as follows. Is the AH being sold in Amsterdam Coffee Shops really SSH that is a misnomer, or is it the Soma strain?

Really interesting, I never knew Super Silver Haze was also known as Amnesia Haze. Not sure when Soma created his Amnesia Haze but Amnesia has it on their menu two months prior to the 04 cup.

It seems kind of strange to me that a coffeeshop would sell SSH under the name Amnesia Haze considering all the cups that SSH won. I know alot of coffeeshops started stocking Amnesia Haze after it won the cup so it makes sense that it would be Soma's version that is for sale in these shops. I guess I'll have to ask the budtender next time I see it on a menu.

According to Shanti he gave Soma a load of seeds to start his breeding off when he first went to Amsterdam.

I hate to think that Soma would nick the strain and the name and release it to the public up against SSH. He also claims his AH has completely different genetics then Shanti's SSH. I would hope the "Guru of Green" has more integrity then that.

Something else for you to think about, I have heard a lot of the new feminised strains that have been coming out over the last couple of years are all bred in Spain and then sold to the seed companies including Soma.
