November 23rd - 26th - Ideas?

Post by DeathRowRecords »

All,

Will be arriving on Monday 23rd around 9am, the purpose of the trip being to check out what the Cup is all about....and perhaps a little posting.

A few questions for you experienced 'Dam/CC veterans - is it worth buying a pass for the day or cheaper to buy a 3/4 day pass? Are the events at Melkweg even worth attending (the Yellowman appearance is the most appealing thing on the lineup to me).

I can't afford a judge's pass so that is out, but any suggestions on what to do, other than sample new shit grown for the cup?

Looking forward to the meet & greets, and 1 last question - any advice on posting back to the UK? Courier or Dutch postal service?

Thanks in advance....

Man.. I miss you by a few weeks but it would of been good to have a smoke up with a UK head!

Never done it myself simply 'cos it's a fair bit of money to go missing but I hear you should just post by Dutch post, like a normal letter.
Also hear the smelly proof bags inside a DVD case is the best option...

Happy toking!

Only advantage I can see to the judges pass is that during the cup certain coffeshops only allow judges to purchase the cup enties. Aside from that, you can only vote if you buy the full pass. I've heard from others who attended the whole thing and who said that, with hindsight, the main benefit of having the pass was the 'stoner-feeling' gained from being a 'judge' - which we know is a farce cos it's impossible to fairly assess an entry if you're altready twatted out of your brains on several other potent strains! I dont mean to be negative - goodness knows I get off on the whole stoner-scene myself - it's just that I kinda demand 'value' for my expenditure! So I guess if the Cup Judges Pass seems worth it to you youre getting value and the whole thing is a great idea!! 200Euros for the pass PLUS payment for all smokes???

My tactic this year remains to be proven but I'm coming to town the day after the cup finishes in the hope that i'll be able to sample the cup winners in peace without cup-hysteria and cup-queues!!

Good luck to you on your trip - wish me luck on mine!!

Cheers for the replies people, I think money (or lack of) has already made my mind up about getting a judge's pass - I'm gonna swerve it like a Zola free kick! It's a bit harsh that some cc's will only sell cup entries to judges, but hey, I guess it all adds to that cachet of knowing you have had the privilege of helping to decide which strains will win the awards.

CannaSir, I like your thinking.....beat the Cup rush and sample the best stuff without the crowds. Still, I picked the dates as I had to see it for myself...I think a day pass to catch some 80s reggae when Yellowman is on might be purchased (good shout matty223!).

bigfish101....a damn shame you won't be about, but the beauty of this site is the 'Who's In Town' page not to mention all the meet & greets....on which note, FlyByNite, I hope to see you at the Toke & Talk on the 23rd (my 1st day).

Peace!
