well hestia you have just reminded me of the days in the late 50s/early 60s when the family would do the 2-day drive from chicago to pass-a-grille beach st petersburg florida each spring at easter time

i suppose because easter is linked to the lunar cycle and the moon affects the tides, the waves at easter were bigger than other times and we used to 'surf' the 3-foot waves that were giants to us (but we were just small kids) on our flimsy inflatable rafts ... for hours on end

Same here in South Florida, the only waves are during Tropical Depressions, and storms..and then everyone still heads for Cocoa...

South Beach Surfing was more like cruising...LOL!

Its been a while since we have had decent waves from storms on the east coast of Florida (Brevard County). Damn hestia i should have jumped in the truck thosed my stick in the back an headed due west to Tampa/St. Pete. No decent storms on the east coast this year.
