We're staying on Kinkerstraat, in Oud West...I know we're near the Kashmir lounge. Any other coffee shops near by? Or good places for the munchies, which I'm sure we will have alot of? We're staying in an apartment....we wanted to stay a little further out this time as well.

thanks folks.

you are close to vondelpark and The Blue Teahouse for the munchies after the smokes at kashmir lounge

the apple dessert is one of the best in amsterdam imho and the location is great and a good place to relax/chill/hang

seating is available both indoors and outdoors, so outdoors you might be able to sneak a smoke maybe, somewhere i read it was smoker-friendly but that may be out-of-date info, in any case vondelpark is most definitely smoker-friendly

have a great trip ...

Good location choice imho!

Can i ask which apartment ?

I stay on kinkerstraat when i visit amsterdam.. i love the location...i personally would never stay in the centre of Dam again ( i did this for 10 visits) unless with a large party/group.

I have eaten shit and good food in this area as i have been with the wifey and my mates.

Garbage food : I go to new york pizza down the road, Mc'donalds down the road, there is also a good burger place further on on the corner snackbar is called?

OK Foods: there is a local dutch restaurant next to kashmir lounge which was good ( italain/pizza) we had a spliiff and beer outside in between courses which was nice. Various other restaurants in the area.

Coffeeshops:
there are so many coffeeshops in the area...There is another cofffeshop close to kashmir lounge 5 doors up i think. coffeeshop 166 - its full on jamaican place but i am white and was served everytime with a smile. There are lots more as other here have stated more so heading away from the centre if your standing on kinkerstraat - a tram pass or bikes is a must imho. Tram 9 to centre 5mins.

If ya into trainers theres a kick ass trainer shop on kinkerstraat, i like airmax's and they had good stock! ( not as good as kshmir tho lmao)

If ya want to know anything re kinkerstraat area pm and ill try my best to help. :P :P
