pictures of buds (HELP)

Post by Bob2 »

wasnt 100% sure where to post but i took the worst ever pictures of buds ive ever seen here, and that was after 2 hours!!! close up, further away, flash or no flash macro on, off light behind to the side and from behind (was in evening) i wouldnt have the will to save buds till morning to take pictures and when i get back to room late evening is the only spare time. i have a 5 mega pixel camera, is there something im missing or am i just hopeless at picture taking(im not expecting to take amazing super close up pictures) ??? i want to take alot more pictures when im back in december do i need to get another camera ???

hi stu. I put the bud in a strong patch of sunlight ideally, as much natural light as poss. then put camera on macro and turn the flash off. try taking photos with the lens 3-5in away from the buds.

tbh i've never had any luck taking budshots whilst actually in Dam, it's only when goodies find their way home that I can get a good shot in calmer surroundings

hi stuart - main issue seems to be focus - are you able to take sharp pics with that camera on other subjects? If so, it'll be a case of practising! If not then get camera looked at! If it's auto-focus only you have little control. I pabilityrecommend shooting out of direct sunlight as it tends to over expose. If you have manual settings on the camera try widening the aperture (smaller number) in conjuntion with different shutter speeds til you get the right exposure for the light you've got. You really need manual capability including manual focus in order to reliably fill the frame with a sharp pic every time.

I'm gonna take a decent camera on trip at month end so we shall see whether it manages to do the biz when its user is totally wasted! (which is why i dont usually bother with a camera on 'dam trips).

Hope this was useful!

PS - didnt need a high qual pic to see the tastiness of that super-spliff, m8!
