I've been reading the forums for a while now and have finally decided to join up. I am from Melbourne, Australia. Been to the Netherlands twice (Rotterdam with family in 02, Amsterdam with friends in 07) and am returning next year to the dam in July, so what better time to join up and join in the discussions :D

I don't have much to contribute to the review index and the like, as I don't really remember the name of the coffeeshops we entered in 07, but all were great and had an awesome time. I do remember The Grasshopper and Bulldog, although I don't remember the weed being as bad as some of you have said. Bit expensive, but not too bad. Each to their own I guess!

Hopefully I can get to know some of you and maybe meet up for a beer or 10 when I'm in town next year

Lol...no reason to be shy. Almost all of us are quite friendly and we always welcome new opinions and such.

Also, no worries regarding not remembering which shops you visited. Everyone has to start somewhere and at least now you've got a good idea where to go and what is good ;)

welcome to the forum

as an amsterdam veteran you will already know about the dangers of the bicycles

have a great trip in july ... the weather should be good for visits to vondelpark a real smoker's garden

It's been almost four months since I came here. One of the best forums I visit on the net! I don't post often, but love reading trip reports and the like!

The time has gone so quickly since I posted this, and in just over 4 months I'll be in Amsterdam!
