2 First Timers

Post by G_Dead »

Me and a friend were given 2 free business class tickets on NWA. This will be our first trip to Amsterdam and we can't #@%*&@ wait to go. We'll be going June 24 - July 5. I've been doing a lot of reading here and on another site. The more I read the less a can wait. :P We're probably going to get an apartment for our stay to try to cut down on eating out for so long, gets a little pricey. Any advice on a semi cheap apartments in the central part of town would be appreciated. A place with a canal view would be a plus. I've already got a decent list going for coffeeshops to visit, and really look forward to smoking a little herb without worrying about the man. Hope everyone had a happy 4/20, see you in 64 days.

G_Dead and MiT, I have posted your trips at my Whos In Town page.

http://192.148.252.25/~reatta/WhosInTown/InTown.htm

If you want unposted, just let me know. I can see this sparking many cross forum meetups in Amterdam. I will post meets, vapo parties, events, whatever tidbits you toss me.

Enjoy

Thanks, FlyByNight. I tried signing up at the Channels too but I never got my confirmation e-mail back. I still read the posts over there too though. Only 60 days to go...

Plans have changed a little. We will now be doing a 3 night road-trip in the middle of our visit. We're going to swing by Wolfsburg, Germany to check out the VW factory since we're both big dub fans. We might stay there overnight or start driving to out next stop and find a place on the way. Next stop is the Nurburgring, a track I've wanted to visit for many years, can't beleive I'm finally going to get to see it. Not sure where we're going to stay that night. We'll be going through Luxembourg and spending the 3rd night in Belgium. After that it's back to A'dam for the last 2 nights. Just wondering what we could expect if we might happen to travel with a little gear. How are the borders? Anything to worry about? Do you think we will have a problem getting a hotel without a reservation(neither of us speak German, Belgian, or anything but English)? Thanks for any help or tips, can't wait to go. Only 25 days left.

Sweet. Looks like our trip will now include a few hours in France to see the Tour de France. They'll be in Srasbourg, France on the 2nd, not to far from the Nurburgring. Just another stop on what should be a great trip. 13 days to go. :P
