So Mr. Lemming What do you think about the ACD cup idea? What days do you think would be best? and also how many days? How many shops ? how many shops a day to visit? What do you think a good name would be for the new event? We really need your input hon' after all it is your site and we wouldn't ever do anything without your ok ,because it just can't be done without you!!!

well hestia this is not lemming of course but i thought maybe i could sneak in an idea that i may have missed reading in the various cup threads but don't think i have seen yet

rather than make one this the 1st acd cup, perhaps make it the 0th acd cup, ie the practice cup where everyone gathers for the purpose of working out how the 1st cup should be organised for real in 2011

different people with different ideas about routes/shops/blahblah could do their own thing during the day and test out their ideas in practice and then everyone could gather in one place at one time in the evening to talk about their day and think about what worked and what did not work

do that for a couple of days and then see if there is any consensus

then we will know what the 1st acd cup should be for real and then we can do it really well ... the first time ... and the next time and the next time ... it should be quite fun

howdy peeps ! im really liking the sound of a 420 cup , ACDamaged , or whatever I am defo attending 420 10 and think the whole trip would be extremely enjoyable to be involved in something of this nature !

The thing is, the 420 Gathering mostly revolves around two shops. It started with, and is still centred on, the meet at the 420 Coffeeshop at 4:20pm on 20th April. For the rest of the weekend our home is the Nes. This works well because it gives new arrivals somewhere to head for and DC and his crew look after us well. Although it may not be a coffeeshop, the Nes has a strong association with this forum and especially the 420 Gathering. So, if this is a competition for coffeeshops (as in cool places to get stoned) two places are bound to have an advantage and the Nes would surely win. Why don’t we just give the prize to DC and then have a massive vapo session to celebrate? If people want to bring along the buds they’ve acquired around town for us to rate then all the better.



Seriously though, we already have an ongoing competition for shops in the various polls in the Coffeeshop Reviews section where Grey Area is clearly winning. It would be really nice to get a summary of the votes from the individual review topics. If I ever get time I might see if I can figure out how to extract that info from the underlying database. Of course if anyone would like to do a manual summary that would be great.

It would be nice to have a similar poll in the Cannabis Strains section. If anyone would like to start one that would be wonderful. You’d need to keep going back and editing the first post to add new strains to the poll as people suggest them.

None of this is intended to pour cold water on the ideas put forward above. I’m still up for anything so keep the debate going.

No prizes needed for that vapo session, lol My own personal 420 tradition that is.

I think you guys should get yer list of shops finalised, get it in poll form then chose the top 6 or 9 from the poll the week before 420. Draw up a little voting sheet then during the 420 week, members can print off the sheet and visit the shops on the list however they like. All sheets then handed into me before ya leave, votes counted and the winners get a little gold, silver, bronze, forum vote 'something' stuck on their page on ACD. If ppl go to the shops how the like then it'll give a fairer idea of what they're like instead of loads on one visit. Also means that those that don't want to get involved, don't have to.

Keep it simple. Votes for the shops can be on service, atmosphere, quality, out of 6, add them up highest score wins.....and each 'judge' can make 1 vote for best Sativa, Indica and hash, add them up highest score wins.....In 5 years time I'll be counting 1000s of sheets thinkin, who the fuk came up with this idea.....hessstiiaaa! ...but atleast then there'll be 1 democratic cup happenin in Amsterdam!.

Super good for you and everyone at the Nes I hope:D Well of course if we took a vote for coolest party place it's allways the Nes, hands down!! and definetly we all will be there over the 420 expecally the big bong out party---last day at the Nes???. and also on the 420 after the 420 celebration at the 420 . If you'll have all of usins?? But on the other hand !seeing how we already have a good system set up for meet snd greets why not take advantage of it!!??All we really have to do is to have our meet and greets at the shops already chosen? AZ has already set up a coffee shop list to pick from so we'll already heve the information set up ! we'll just have to show up and buzz. actually this shin-dig will be fairly simple to set up. we have the basics in place .the only thing we have to do is come to the partys(meet and greets)
and fill out a paper of what we like and what we don't. if you want to .if you don't...thats cool too.So I gess what i'm asking is that if I come over early (a few days)and get it set up will everyone come and party -out ?? i'm not trying to be pushy but I think this is a good idea. a ACD meet. and I think we really should try and do it ....So what dose everyone think???

so the plan for the ACD Cup needs to cope with plans going up in smoke, that's a tricky design decision but should be possible

It does sound like fun. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend this year, as I have exams in late April.

From my experience of setting up group parties, I have found that many many people are, at first, very enthusiastic about offering suggestions, and so on, but when it comes to doing actual work/responsibilites the burden is usually born by few. Then, to make matters worse, many of the most enthusiastic folks don't show up.

I think that if any work is gonna go into setting up this competition/happening then maybe some kind of token (pardon the pun) "accountability fee" be levied for those who say they will be attending. A small amount of say, 40 Euro, should suffice.

Then, if you do attend, your 40 Euro will be given back to you, in weed/hash samples, Tee-shirts, or whatever. If you don't attend, then your 40 Euros goes into the general kitty for the attendees to enjoy.

Also, this fee would have to paid by a certain deadline date (Say, the end of February). That way, the organizers can gauge how much effort, if any, to put into the event.

But, at least, a fee would keep the punters honest. AND they would get it back if they showed up, so there is no downside to that option.

whoa.. this is alot of planning for a bunch of stoners.. LOL. My experiences from 420 is that some of the best laid plans get um forgotten? LOL. ANyway, IM always up for good coffeeshop crawls. Ill go with the flow.

It's cool with Lemming .......SO lets do this thing and have a BLASTx10 here is a rough draft Day 1 --- april 18 . 3 meet and greets , than over to the Nes to discuss our findings of the day,and party. Day 2 April 19 3 meet and greets then over to the Nes to discuss todays findings - moore partying Day 3 April 20 3 more meet and greets with the last one being the coffee shop 420 at 420 than over to the n Nes to discuss the days finding and make our decisions on how the 9 coffee shops chosen rate. and Party Day 4 April 21 we all go to the top 3 coffee shops picked starting with the 3dr place winner-Bronze, than the secont place winner-Silver , with the top winner being last -GOLD and THEN. if were able to! Go back to the Nes for the BIG BONG OUT. Hows this sound????

Well gurl it sounds like a real hoot. Lol. I'm throwing my gloves in the ring and bringing my iron lung to help me survive this 420 smokeout. I'll be arriving the 16th-29th and be glad to give you a hand before and after if needed.
