Xmas Canal Parade in Amsterdam - a new event
December 04 2009
On Christmas eve, December 24, there will be a boat parade in the canals of Amsterdam.
The parade will consist of 15 to 20 boats. The boats in the parade will be decorated with lights, music, choirs etc. in holiday themes. A jury will award prizes for the best decorated boats.
The route of the parade is along the Prinsengracht canal, the river Amstel, Zwanenburgwal, Oudeschans and Oosterdok (which is by and large the same route as the yearly Gay Pride Canal Parade).
The parade will be from 8pm to 10pm. The exact starting point and direction of the parade have not yet been announced.
For more information (and also a map of the route) see the Xmas Canal Parade website.
