Your chair sounds wicked. I'm stuck with a boring manual one, which i'm not allowed to drive myself!! Was supposed to be a transit (four titchy wheels and no control) but I became 'overly anxious' about being stolen, just wheeled away  and we had to switch to a manual (two big, two small wheels) - no different really but the appearence of independence is the closest i can get! And the ride is smoother, which leads me to add an appendix to this Q......

Which coffeeshops (of the wh/ch accessable variety) can be reached over smooth ground (not cobbled!!!! For me bumps = damage - not the good kind) and are within 10 mins slowish wheel/walk of Herengracht (halfway betwixt Siberie and Amnesia)? (And allow
tobacco mixing - cannot afford to choke; ribs break or dislocate or the discs can get forced from my spine etc etc)
Phew! Sorry that is so complicated - might end up reiterating in a separate thread.

Thanks in advance for those faithful tokers who might be informed well enough to come up with an answer to this ridiculous quandry :D
Don't worry about the tobacco, I have never come across a shop that cares. Your need to smoke tobacco is very interesting. Care to through a lawsuit at the government to repeal the tobacco ban? :D

I thought of this post as I was riding to work out of town. All smooth, flat sidewalks and bike paths. Not the answer you want to hear...

Good luck.

Thanks Marco :) , do need the luck.

Would thoroughly apprciate if you could let me know if there are any particular roads around the center you think I should avoid. My memories of the Dam are several years old and 'hazy' lol. Also, I wasn't looking at the streets with an eye to wheeling over them. I do kind of remember some very narrow and rutted ones alongside canals, and I think I saw a Bulldog but really really not sure. :)

Just bumping this thread, and Boners link in particular (cheers  ) for anyone else that might find it useful.

It's difficult to find good info about wheelchair use in the Dam, especially for people interested in the non-touristy aspects ;)

What a stupid fucking statement , do you have any idea how hard it is to be stuck in a wheelchair whenever you go out no matter what ?
Try watching the person you love more than anyone else cry her eyes out because she can't run around with her kids anymore .
Fucking prat , I hope you do find a wheelchair in Dam , that way I can dump you head first in the nearest fucking canal .
Sending out the good vibes to those that need them right now :-)

If i remember right the rokerij near muntplein and the one at the single near central station have flat entrance. but the dealer is on the basement!

Amnesia has a flat entrance I think. and there is space for a wheelchair. can s.o. confirm that?

I'm okay with you guys, but you have to agree with the fact that being on a weelchair multiply by 100 your chance to get a seat at Grey Area :D
