Feeling seasonal yet?

Post by spidergawd »

I just thought I would share a moment of my journey to work this morning.

Camera phone, foggy day, quick snap. No technique, love you all.

Peace

Looks like you're going to need your cover to keep warm.

Nice snap shot. I get wild deer roaming where I live, out in the countryside, but not with antlers like that, lol.

Hell yeah, I'm feeling seasonal now!
Xmas is looming and from today I'm now off work until after the new year and onwards.....woo-hoo.

the lights are twinklin' in my house...the kitchen smells like fresh baked cookies, and my daughter is being the total brat-before-Xmas!!! YES! I feel seasonal!!! GREAT shot too! No deer in my part of town (although i'm sure some like to wear antlers, but that would be a completely different forum...)

OMG! So I went for a 5 mile walk today around my local woods and forests in Somerset (UK) and saw 4 wild deer grazing, who happily bounced off, fluffy white tail in view, when I got too close for them. Great stuff. (I moved out of town to live in the countryside years ago, btw)

However, later on, I had to drive into my local town from where I live to get some groceries, etc, for the weekend. While driving home, there was a huge great van in front of me. He hit a deer full on. Part of the van's bumper fell off and I had to steer my car over his fallen off bumper but the car behind me crashed into his fallen off bumper and came to a halt. I did a U-turn to find out all was OK and they were, but the huge carcass of a deer was on the road and it was gruesome viewing. The head was gone, no legs and just a steaming lump of huge deer in the road, ripped to utter shreds, blood and guts strewn across the pitch black remote dark road.

I have absolutely no idea why the van didn't stop when it hit the deer, but what a fucked up scene I could have done without today. Oh well..

Indeed, I'm sure it was on QI or something, that if you hit a deer you can't pick it up, but if it's road kill, the person behind, after the kill, can have it. lol (you should have seen the state it was in though, ugh)
