I know that lot of people look for it in summer in amsterdam so i DON'T expect you can find it for me,only'd like to know which is the way to get info about it for a non dutch speaker. So the question is which is the best way, like mailing all hostels, pub, bar or going there some months before for 2,3 days and asking around. Thanks in advance to all of you that will help me

Actually, I don't think you can work in Burger King in The Netherlands without being able to speak Dutch

I have a friend who works in the one near the Munt tower, he is fluent in brummie and that is it. Went over on holiday in september, got a job why he was there and never came back.
Why would you have to speak dutch to work in Burger King?

I always see signs in shops saying staff wanted (esp in headshops)

do they actually pay you well or is it poor pay because of where the job is?

Oh ok, well there you go. I would have assumed that to work in any service job where you're interacting all the time with Dutch people that you'd have to be able to speak Dutch. The couple of times I've been to Burger Kings in The Netherlands I've been served by people you can't speak English at all. So I imagine that working with these people would be difficult without Dutch. Also, I imagine all their training material would be in Dutch too. I mean, maybe some places are set up to train and employ English only speaking people, but I can't imagine that's the vast majority of them?

In my searching for jobs I've found that lots of low level employment like physical labour, working in factories, hospitality work and retail work aren't available to an English only speaking person like me for various language related reasons. So it puts you in an unusual position, where the only kind of job you can get it a slightly better one, haha.

I was Christmas shopping today and was thinking that you may want to try the tourist shops near Central Station. They seem to have kids from Eastern Europe working there.

Like the word 'fuck'....'Whopper and fries' is universally known.

Munky, it depends on who owns the shop, but it's generally between 6 and 8 euro per hour.

If ya don't mind workin in a call center they're always lookin for staff.

Yeah that's true. I've had some luck answering ads on expat sites. Also, sign up and read the expatica forums, they can give you a good idea of the state of employment for expats and visitors.
