If you book the 4 person room you get a long shared balcony overlooking the redlight. Was a very very nice room too.

Stayed at NH Amsterdam Centre. Had a 5th floor non smoking room with a balcony which allowed me to smoke at night/mornings. Would certainly recommend it.

Hey

Interested by this topic as I find using priceline the hotels (particularly NH) are much cheaper than apartments and could help balance the budget of a stop over stoner trip (24-48 hours) from England. I know these hotels have smoking rooms however they specifically state this does not include weed and one of the main draws of the 'dam is paranoia-free smoking, not having to worry about blowing out of a window or putting a towel by the door, or someone knocking on the door to kick you out, so why take the risk? I always tend to book apartments as these are the perfect solution for hassle free accomodation, (often with toastie machines - my munchie necessity) and would be really bothered by staying somewhere that isn't smoker friendly. On the other hand, as apartments usually have a 'stay or pay' 3 night weekend policy I would love to find genuine smoker friendly hotels, as for me, getting away with it would be an annoyance I like to leave at home with my weed smoking criminal status :P

the hem on amsterdam west is only 150 bucks for 3 nights and u can upgrade to room 403 that has its own private balcony and also has a jacuzzi. If you email them before you go and say its ur birthday or something special you may get it upgraded for nothing i did other than that its an extra 10euros a night but well worth it. tram/bus/metro station all within a couple of minutes walking distance. 10-15 mins on tram to center
