OK, fair enough, English is not your first language and I will take this point to apologise. Just a hint, why not download the latest Firefox web browser and install the add-on dictionary widget. This would actually help you learn English as you enter text on the screen, it underlines faulty spelling and/or incorrect use of apostrophes, etc. Only helping out, no worries Dimon.

With regards priceline i have used it in the past but you should read the thread!!!. essentially if you are bidding on a 4 star then expect to pay around £40 plus taxes and 5 star around £55 plus taxes.the hotels that you will get will be one of the following

4 star
Marriott ,Nh carlton, movenpick,Nh carlton, NHcentral .Most likely NH Carlton

5 star

Barbizon Palace, Krasnopolsky, and ocassionally Hilton and Grand Amrath

Only bid for the hotels in the centre and start your bidding low ,if it is not excepted you will get a counter offer ignore it and increase your bid in £2 increments that way you get the lowest price point

Whilst you do not know which hotel you will get it will be one of the above as they are the active ones at the moment you can get another bid on the same day but at the risk of this going on forever it is best to read the thread ....sorry

i would defo use priceline everytime the savings are incredible it just happens that Amsterdam is particularly good value on there

With all the money you save think of the weed you can buy.Have a crack at it and good luck , if i can help i will cheers

Except for the fact that Boners experience is years out of date and not an issue now I would agree.

Shiva, the Marriott now shows up as a PL 5 star not a 4. And as far as which 4 star you might get through PL NYOP bidding?

The two most likely (based on winners reports) are the NH Carlton and the NH Amsterdam Centre. If you bid low. If your bid is up around $80 USD then the Movenpick comes into play.

I fully expect to score a 4 star double room in one of those two hotels for no more than $59 to $61 USD a night as far as a winning bid for next month. Cheaper than my old stand by 2 star single room (no lift-small room-small bed-tiny TV-facilities in the hall) Pretty cheap in my view.

But then you got to know how to do that.

To each their own

i have stayed in the carlton easily over 7times, its my favourite hotel in the dam, the location is unbeatable imo, but 1 thing i will say is that only the superior & deluxe rooms are actualy 4* the classic rooms are a 3* at best, they are very dated & unlike the sup & dlx you even have to pay to use the fridge, still if you can get for same price as a 2* its very good + insist on a front facing room, MUCH better views than the rear facing 1's

Thanks Wallnuts for that update on the Carlton. I may still get that one since I have another reservation to make for my trip.

I just scored the NH Amsterdam Centre for my first win. Right next to the Marriott.

Everytime I have booked a hotel for Amsterdam it has always been through easytobook. Never had a problem with them, apart from when I submitted a rather negative review on a hotel, it strangely never appeared on their website!? Other than this its always been ok.
