Hello everyone,
I wanted to share some experiences I had during the 09 Cani Cup.
First of all the main reason I wanted to post is because I did happen unknowingly with a friend enter the paradise coffeshop off of dam square. This place SUCKS!!!! Please let us all advise anyone traveling to amsterdam to avoid this place at all costs. It is NOT the location, decor or music that ruins this place. It is the people who are running it.
I entered the shop with a friend and sat down to light up. Normally we would do this anywhere with no problem. A few seconds later this piece of feces that was molded to resemble a human told us that we had to buy something or leave. The turd was rude about it too. I am a business man. I understand that this is a business and not a free rest station. Usually at the other shops we would find a table, get comfortable, light up, then while in a nice comfortable mood order some drinks and then find the menu which we would order some of the finest they had to offer. I only ask for the best. I am not there often so, I don't want to waste my time. So, I saw that this turd was acting like the hole he was dropped from. I decided to give it back to him a little. I said "ok, we want to order something, bring us a menu" I was unable to determine his facial expressions because I did not want to give him the respect of looking at him when I talked to him and also that he was such a dark greasy pimple faced piece of excrement that I could only really make out two shifty jaundiced eyes. He went back to the counter to huddle up with the other shits as to form a new plan. So he sends another shade of greasy crap to reiterate what he just said. I then told the new meconium to bring us some menus. He started to argue and I said ok, I will see the menu at the counter. I already knew that I would not buy any thing but coffee and not drink it. So I asked for two coffees and he said that they did not serve coffee there. This was a lie because he was standing in front of two coffee machines and the other piles of shit standing around him were greedly sipping at there miniture cups of expresso. So, we left and vowed never to return.
The music there was like reggae. Which I prefer when smoking but, it seemed like the people who worked there were trying to ack like they were Jamaican. I was like a cheesy imitation. Like someone trying to act like they are of a certain culture but with no effort put into it. All in All I have to say avoid this place like a dead body. Who knows where the profits of this store are going to fund anyway. I wouldnt be suprised if they were more than anti-tourist.
I was thinking of a plan. Let's boycott this place, and put them out of business. Then we have a group of investors get together. We will buy the shop and put a big sign outside "under new ownership, assholes have been bought out" We can have a huge grand opening party, and show people what a shop should be like.
I want to say some positive things about the shop. 1. location, location, location. It is not by the central station but, it is right off of dam square which is a huge meeting place for locals as well as tourists. 2. There is an incredible amount of foot traffic. There must be thousand crossing in front of the store daily. 3. There does not seem to be many other shops in the direct vicinity. 4. The signage is good. It actually has the potential to be the "Best" 5. The inside of the shop is large compared to some other shops in the area. 6. There is plenty of seating.
It think this would be an excellent business for a turn around. It is obvious that it is not being managed properly. It could become an actual paradise instead of paradise lost. Let us get together and "DO" something instead of just talking. I could not see a better reason to go over to Amsterdam to live and conducting business.

I'm afraid this happens a lot. I would add to the reviews by emailing Lemming. As you can see, they get more negative reviews than positive. https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/Paradise.htmlparadisecoffeeshopsucks wrote:The music there was like reggae. Hello

How do mate,
thought you were sittin' on the fence about that bloke in there for a minute!
! Every time i've ever been anywhere i've been pissed off by some twat but now i try to laugh it off. For me it's a couple of minutes, with them, it's a lifestyle choice. It's a safe bet most of them were to be avoided from the moment they could talk and will be til the day they pop there clogs. But for every bad one i've had, i've had some crackers
But your right, that behavior you describe isn't , i'm tired, i'm skint and the euro-millions dream is dead again day. More rudeness that quickly went towards aggressive intimidation. Fair play, it probably is pretty stressful at times in coffeeshops dealing with stoners in various states of confusion! but you've every right to expect better, when the aim of the game is to get money out your pocket. You money walked away and wont go back to the place. Perfect response, loads more out there!
Don't let the bastards grind you down!
