I was in town Sunday the 10th. Sat there in the window of the 420 with a Vapo bag watching giant snowflakes falling. It was beautiful! There were a brave few on their bikes. Walking was a hazard, can't imagin riding a bike in this snow. I find the bad weather in Amsterdam to be a good excuse to spend more time in the CS's.

you'll notice that most of the walkways aren't salted at all... leading to really slippery sidewalks.... however all the damned bike paths are clear! at least thats how it is out here....

bikes come first.... then people :D

I'm told thats how it is over here too........ I guess its all to do with their memory muscle reflex and the fact they have had so much experience.

erm anyhow -

Whilst not snow free around the M25/M20 or M25/M2 junctions its certainly safe to travel as long as you keep to the major routes .... thou some of the 3 digit A roads are now not being gritted, but that should only affect you if your going to across north Kent.

The only other thing that you need to be alert to is if Kent Police invoke 'operation stack'. If they do then keep your eye out for the diversions (hint - they start are J10 [ashford] and take you behind a Tesco as soon as you come off the motorway)

Enjoy your stay.
