A girl working in a coffeeshop (think it was Kadinsky but not 100% sure as it was years ago) once told me that coffeeshops didn't have comfortable seats to specifically stop the customers vegging out. I guess they think customers nodding off is bad for business.

Well I'm sitting here in da graal as I type (loving the wi-fi) and can offically say this is my new fav place. The seats are as comfortable as they look more so even, and such a chilled out place
the super pollum is very nice from here crumbles so easily

If u'r around at the moment u have to pick up the blueberry super sliver haze from noon. In all my times of smoking and smoking in dam this would have to be my fav spliff ever so tasty and smooth at the same time unbelievable and at 10 euros bargin

I have to agree and also recommend Amnesia. The wall has a long couch along it and the seats at the food/drink bar are comfy as well.

If it's warm outside they have the best bench out front to sit on and get baked. The tourist barge rolls by every once in a while and you get to smile for the "straight" people

I too am looking for a comfortable coffeeshop and was wondering if you could help me out with some advice.

I'll be in Amsterdam for a week during Easter, and I'll be travelling together with my wife and another couple. I'll be the only pot smoker, which poses certain challenges.

I'm looking for a coffeeshop that has several or all of the following traits:
• A comfortable place to relax, with comfy chairs, mellow music, nice ambience, laid-back atmosphere, etc.
• A nice selection of food and drinks, a café/coffeeshop combo where non-smokers feel welcome as well.
• A nice interior. I like the Dampkring.
• Quality weed. Price is not important.
• Not too far from the center of Amsterdam. A 30-45 minute walk from the Dam Square is fine, though.
• Groovy murals would be a bonus. I loved the Global Chillage when I was there in 2002… It’s a shame it’s gone. Is Happy Feelngs any good?
• A bubbler/bong for my portable vape would also be cool, but it’s not a requirement.

An alternative is a pot-friendly bar/café. (I’ll be vaping only.) I really liked the Absinthe, but it too was gone when I last visited.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I've not been there myself (planning to go when next in the Dam in April)but from reading posts on here Nes Cafe sounds like it could be what you're after, you'd need to buy your smoke elsewhere as it is a pot friendly bar. So the others could have a drink whilst you get baked? check it out in the coffeeshop review section.

I know your after a coffeshop/cafe but have you considered the Vondelpark? You could grab some food/nibbles/drink from Albert Heijn and have your own little picnic there, take some tunes,blaze away watch the world go by or go for a walk. (assuming the weather is good when you go.)

Thanks Doobie, those are very good suggestions. Nes Cafe looks nice, and having a picnic in Vondelpark sounds exactly like what I want to do, but I think I will need to go back in July for that. Looks like Easter will be pretty cold...

I was in Abraxas in 2011 and they had some really cool seats upstairs that you could kinda lay back and stretch your legs out. I remember getting really stoned off some hash up there and almost nodded off as I was so high
Don't know if it is still the same set up. From what I'm reading a lot of shops want you to keep smoking and/or buying drinks so maybe that's why they don't want you to get too comfortable?
