a nice little bong poll

Post by Dj Smokey »

Myself, I am a fan of glass all the way. 8) But some people are fans or acrylic, ceramic, metal, wood, whatever you can make a bong or pipe out of. So lets see what everyone's favorite material is. Happy smoking

I Have a nice little Jack Daniels bottle converted into a bong and I love it. I made a bong out of an old 2ltr jiuce bottle once which worked

I've used ceramic ones before as well as a few homemade efforts involving plastic bottles and some sturdy tubing.

 Wooden bongs  Surely the constant watering would rot the wood away. They obviously exist out there in some way or other and I have obviously never seen one so if somebody has seen and used one then let me know about it.

A wooden bong sounds about as practical as an ashtray on a motorbike.

I prefer glass, but since my 3' Graphix broke I have been smoking 3 Liter Gravity Bongs in plastic bottles with a metal bowl. However, since it's a gravity bong it makes up for it. That's when I smoke bongs of course. I prefer a joint to anything else, but a glass bowl is a nice second.

I like the acrylic bongs myself, maybe because it's what I started off on but I do like the fact you get a good pull of smoke on all the acrylic ones I have tried.

The ceraminc bongs can look good, I like the Cheech and Chong one on many head shop websites. I have a cermaic Sitting Bull type character which is great to put in the freezer for 5 mins before filling with icey water. But the hit from the smoke is not as smooth as the acrylic bongs in my opinion.

Never tried a glass bong, or seen many around to be honest. Sound popular though.

they are actuelly quite easy to build and maintain. if you have access to a drillpress, a lathe, and a nice maple or ash 3"x3",its easy. lathe the 3x3 to make it round, and SLOWLY, core it out with the drillpress. i went through 4 before i got it right. :x then just drill out the hole for a downstem, dunk it in Tompsons deck sealer or the like, let it dry, repeat again then varnish it. with a good varnish it will feal like glass in your hands. they are a nice way to get back to nature i guess, except i had a glass downstem and bowl in mine. :) well i hope that infomative. (wow im stoned, look at all of that)

Glass bongs are the shit!

if you really think about it, they are by far the coolest ones.. on top of that, with a glass bong, you see whats going on inside and you can check very easily if your water is fucked dirty or if its still ok to use.. (the water in your bong = your lungs!!) acrylic bongs do the job aswell.. but glass is just cooler :)

btw, I picture-googled "wooden bongs" and couldn't find any.. I guess their really not popular :? ... and I can guess why! :D (btw, I loved the ashtray on a motorcycle analogy.. amazing :))

and that's why. That bong water can get pretty filthy and my mates and I used to play little smoking games where the loser basically had to drink the bong water. Okay they didn't HAVE TO, but those that did found that it didn't stay in them for very long and it was all harmless fun anyway.

Oh how we all laughed. Needless to say I was the loser a few times but the little craze didn't last long.

Have to agree with the Glass supporters. Having been confined to homemade bottle bongs for so many years, the idea of a big all-Glass double-chamber bong makes my mouth water. An unbelievable contrast. So smooth. Can't wait to pick out a nice one in Amsterdam when i'm there next January.
I miss that place so much.

I voted glass a while back...it has to be glass. Its the only one that doesnt "add" to the flavour. It totally non-reactive and doesnt taint the smoke with anything!

Speaking of these glass wonders, where is a headshop close to GHE (my hotel) or Central that has a great selection of glass bongs?
I miss that place so much.
