i did something similar when i went to canada once. i was 19 and bought a bunch of hard liquor and brought iy back. put some in my dads luggage(lame and disrespectful on my part) boy was he suprised when he got searched...and so was i. kept the liquor to. i rarely drink and still have a little bit left. got it in 2004 too.

I use the main Post Office in Raadhuisstraat at Singel 250 to send my "special" gifts home. I go inside to the far left Post office counter if not busy, and give the packages to a member of staff directly. Have had no problem this way and at least you know you are going to pay the right stampage costs, so if they dont arrive you know it wasnt because of a shortfall. Normally takes about 3 days to arrive in the UK.
