Oh hai

Post by HerrÖveri »

Greetings from Helsinki, Finland!

I'm a rookie in here, I've been reading this forum about 2 weeks and it consumes awfull lot of time when I try to work hard..

Heading to Amsterdam on July 2nd - July 9th, waaaay far too long time to wait getting there. I'm here to share experiences about smoking, writing some reports from my trip and so on. Hoping to be a good community member :)

I'm staying at Kooyk Hotel, looked like a good place to stay. I've never been to Amsterdam before and I'm going solo too, kinda nervous about it, dunno why, new things I guess. I'll be more than happy to meet people there and share my joint. I'm laid back I tend to take things easily and take down problems with a laugh.

Peace with you bros and sis!

Thanks. I guess the first thing I'll after I've dropped my gear to the hotel, is to invade The Dolphins. Man, I can't wait the bud there, compared to Finnish ones I've heard them say it's like beer vs booze, aaaah.

Welcome :) I have to agree with Willjay. Its so much fun, going off to Amsterdam doing your own thing and then meeting up with ADC buddies at meet & greets. Have a good one. :)
What a long strange trip it is.

Welcome to the forum.

You have been posted on the July Whos In Town page.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.
Watch for Toke and Talks, I post them up to the last minute.

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

First timers get my S G Collins recommendation
I think a read of this will maximize your efficiency once you get there.

How not to get hit by a bike and other stuff they forgot to tell you about Amsterdam.

Enjoy

How not to get hit by a bike

this document may be found in the excellent S G Collins website recommended by FlyByNite for first-time visitors to amsterdam

imho reading this document is the very most important preparation you can do to ensure your own safety in amsterdam traffic, because being hit by a bicycle could ruin your day ...

if you have already read the document, then thanks, but if not, then please please read before you arrive, and thanks

have a great trip ...

Thanks, that page really sums up most of the things I wanted to ask.

My plans are to visit different coffee shops, smoke as much as my head can take, see some different places, meet new people and eat well in some restaurants. I guess that's what 90% of the people going there are up to, wonder why ;)

I'm also curious finally discovering the real differences between sativa and indica, that what's still a mystery to me. Dolphin will be my first target to visit, as it is only few blocks away from my hotel and reviews are great.

What can you say about the tolerance to smoking in hotels, their page didin't mention anything about it, so I guess I'd better keep a low profile and smoke next to an open window? I don't wanna behave like a jerk and make anyone pissed off, better extra careful, aye?

When I actually get there, I'm gonna keep up pretty real time reporting with my cellphone, if I can remember it.. It's pretty usual that I forget this in few seconds, wonder why... :)

Thanks also for nice greetings!
Peace with you all.

Wish I could go back to my 1st trip and do it all over again. You are in for a fun time. Indica makes you stoned and sativa makes you high. Put them together and whammo you get both!
Great time of year to be going you picked. My last trip was in sub zero temperatures.. at least the coffeeshops were warm!

it all depends upon the hotel, each hotel is slightly different in how strict they are about smoking in the rooms

there are loads of posts about this topic in the forum, i suggest you look first for info about your particular hotel and then check out everyone's suggestions in general about dealing with windows and doors and smoke/fire alarms etc

good luck
