:D lol To be honest, I thought myself to be a bit of a connoisseur. I've only started to second guess myself since joining this site......

I've been going long enough at this stage, I think I'm just getting the fear of whats in store for me, maybe I should do less forum reading and more smoking...

Have a toke and a smile and shut the fuck up

Peace

To try and fix this problem, can anyone suggest a nice welcoming coffee shop where I won't be treated like just another tourist in? I'm getting kinda fed up with this shit at this stage, I've been going at least twice a year for the past 10 years.

I've tried sparking up relationships with budtenders in various coffeeshops and the fact that there is a 6 month gap between visits, I find most of the time the stoned coffeeshop attendants can barely string a sentence together never mind remember who I am.

This is a holiday for me, so I tend not to have a chip on my shoulder about paying slightly above the odds for really top quality weed, but I agree wholeheartedly, €17 a gram is a rip off and I couldn't justify paying it regardless. I was just curious to why it was so expensive. "Boutique" says it all to me.

Thanks for the help
Don't let what I say bother you, I was just sparring. Just go and have a good time. As far as I am concerned, and I am sure others will agree, if you act accordingly (chilled out, respectful, polite) you should receive the same in kind, and have the time of your life. Remember, weed and a disproportionate amount of alcohol don't mix well.
True about some of the bud tenders being lit up, wouldn't you? :D Don't give up in trying to establish a relationship, preferably with your favorite shop, because someday you might be surprised that someone there remembers your name, or at least recognizes you from a previous visit. Remember that they see upwards of hundreds of different people everyday. Took me nearly six months (2 visits per month) to establish a by-name relationship with staff and bud tenders from one shop just south of nowhere in Limburg Province.
If you want to pay a little extra, go on. Just be advised that there is gear that should do you just fine for nearly half the price. I want you have a great time, and save a little money along the way.

Have fun.
Peace.

Then how comes Barneys sell their version for more than Grey Area and Bluebird?.
I read it was a guy & a group of grower mates growing the DrG/Quaze..... but now Barneys are selling the seeds and I'm sure USBL said DNA/Grey Area had it in seed form (from Barneys) as well, as far as pricing is concerned that would still come down to what the growers are selling it for, GA may be buying it slightly cheaper or Barneys are just being greedy bastards (I'd guess the latter).
I have always pondered the thought that C/S's should form co-ops and have a set of dedicated growers. This way, the C/S's control the cost, all things considered. Another benefit would be the reduced risk taken when having to deal with large grow suppliers, the ones that export and charge way to much.
The article you included in a previous post to this thread touched upon the problems that small growers had to deal with, but if these grows are controlled by reps of various C/S co-ops, this could work, maybe.
Until cannabis is legalized, there are always going to be hassles.

Peace.

Look mate, dont worry about a thing, YOU ARE A TOURIST, in every country you go to in this world, there will be someone trying to rip off the tourists..... Coffeeshops have a universal menu, not 1 for locals and 1 for tourists. Go in whereever you want, everywhere can be friendly, everywhere can have its problems, you make you own analysis on you own experiences :-)... main one is to have fun. You make pay 17 e/g in a coffeeshop for weed (Barneys), but some coffeeshops sell drinks for over 2e, a can of coke at much where im from is 70p (70 euro cent), and coffee as much as £1 (1e). I for one enjoyed the Grinspoon and enjoy the Barneys experience, we all know they are expensive, and for that reason i make it the 1st stop of my trips and the only stop. (althought i would pop into Barneys Lounge if walking past). Just make sure no-one takes advantage of you, like when i was in Hunters (a well respected coffeeshop, and the NYC Diesel was amazing), the budtender tried to take advatage of a stoned friend (gettin nowhere as were a bit more clued up than that, even when stoned) by trying to sell him 60% more than what he asked for. You should be able to look smell and some shops let you touch the buds (Although Hunters budtenders seem to get very aggitated if you look at more than 3 tubs). The weed is weighed up in front of you (unless in some shops where it is pre bagged). So really my friend, you shouldnt have any problems, and people in Amsterdam are really friendly even when stoned

A nice welcoming coffeeshop... most of them, i can suggest a few, Picasso, Paradox, Homegrown Fantasy and Siberie

Have a good un mate

LS speaks the truth...4 very friendly CS's,where you'll always be welcome...makes me laugh ,all the people that walk past Picasso, where you're always greeted with a bow and a smile, stumbling up to Barneys to pay excessive prices for "boutique "dope... :D
Also Basjoe (as mentioned) and either Stix, where I've always been made welcome...and you get to try their Nepalese Temple Ball (yumyum) 8)

When you are on Vacation in Amsterdam who gives a fuck about 5euro more for 1 gram of herb. Buy 1 to try and then go back to smoking everything else you like. It's worth a try.

Hey there,
Its true that quaze/Dr. Grinspoon is grown by one group of growers, the growers sell it for a static price, this meens that all the schops pay the same price. The shops though can set there own prices, this makes the price difrend from shop to shop.

Beside that I have to tell you that the seeds you buy with the name dr. Grinspoon are'nt realy dr. Grinspoonseeds. There was only a female plant, so they needed to put chemical stuf in the pland to chance it to a male one, those plands made seeds and they are called F1 it is a whole diferend weed, since you get verry stond and slow from it insted of high and speedy. Currently the F1 is only soled as hasj or isolator. And the seeds are sold as dr. Grinspoon.

This means that the real quaze can only be bought at the shops, sorry but i needed to inform you guys ;)
