Sorry it's been so long between postings. Work really cuts into my time.
Monday the 18th.
After spending a somewhat restless night, even went for a walk and a puff at about 4:30am, I decided to have a lay-in....at 11:30am, I'm going to have a lay-in!!!....so LittleD went off for breaky alone with plans to meet at Gray Area around 2:00pm. I snuggled down and when I opened my eyes next it was 1:50pm....damn good sleep though I will be late to meet LittleD.
I shower, drain a couple of coffee/Bailey's, RFR (roll for road) and get to Gray Area by 2:30pm....LittleD isn't there yet. Armed with my list from ACD, I enquire after the Equatorial Sativa...sold out. Damn. Ok, next on the list, The Wobbler....just sold the last an hour ago. It's starting to sound like the Monty Python skit 'The Cheese Shop', had some but the cat ate it. So I grab a gr of Cheesel (which looked and smelled very nice), a coffee and sat looking out the window. The trusty grinder flashes and I was soon enjoying a fattie of Cheesel. When I went to the bar to get another coffee I noticed the "stairs" to the bathroom in the corner, I say "stairs" because they were more of an enclosed ladder than stairs....and I thought the ones at Dolphins were dangerous, for an old fu*k like me anyways. LittleD wandered in just as I was finishing my first joint, he had stop at Amnesia and picked up a nice chunk of black hash (don't know what it was)....which of course he had to try, hence he was almost an hour late. We sat here chilling for a while, nice place with a very good vibe, enjoying the view. I am amazed by the shear number of bicycles and the everyday use that the Dutch put them to. Back home a mother would pick-up 4-5 kids from school in her mini-van, from the window of GA I spot a lady with four kids in a box on the front of her bike and one more riding the rear rack! A young fella with his girl friend/date riding the rack side-saddle. A man rode past and had a child STANDING on the rack with their hands on the mans shoulders. Didn't look to be the safest mode of transport. Crazy. We RFR and start out for Tertulia.
After a wonderful stroll, this is a great city for strolling, we arrive at Tertulia, which is closed on Mondays. Damn it. We need coffee and I need to sit down so, around the corner on the ACD map is a coffeeshop named Johnny and it's to there we waddle. Cool shop. We chat with the friendly bud tender and the only customer in there as we roll the gr of Laughing Buddha we purchased. This is the first and only coffeeshop that we visited that had a smoking room, not really a room more of a booth....one has to stand whilst in there. After our joints and a bit of a sit down with a coffee we RFR, head out and down the canal looking for Vuzelstraat(sic) and Mellow Yellow. I have been honing my one-eyed navigation technique and we arrive with no problems.
This is a good sized coffeeshop and 10cc were on the sound system when we walked in but had turned to rap by the time I had rolled. I consult my list and confidently ask to see their LA Confidential....sold out. Sleestack is next on the list and, joy of joys, they have some. 2 grs of that, a coffee and I settle by the front window. LittleD joins me after he grabs a gr of Bubble Gum, a gr of Cheese and a coffee. This is a very friendly and relaxed shop and it was a chore for us to make the move but, I had not yet eaten and I was getting ravenous. We roll two each for the walk back to the hotel, where we had decided to dine, and start the long waddle up to Dam Square.
(A little out of focus and I apologise for the shaved ape in the fore ground)
This is a straight forward route, up Vuzelstraat(sic), on to Rokin and we're there. Navigation breakdown. We are somewhere off to the west of our target, but find an Italian restaurant that looks good....Azzurro. Good meal, I had the stuffed cantaloni and a couple of glasses of wine. After a coffee and a tiramisu we get the check but find that we have a problem, we can't RFR here and it's a bit of a hike over to Basjoe's. LittleD smiles and says we'll be all right as he has his hash pipe with him and a good supply to fill it. We're off.
A nice stroll and a few pipes each brings us into view of that welcoming blue sign. Fist bumps and greetings are completed. I ask James to pick out a bud for me, no idea what it was but it sat me heavily in the booth. LittleD had to re-supply his hash stock so grabbed 2 grs of Cream Special. Between the pot, the hash, the mellow tunes, the full stomach and my tired state I was feeling pretty comfortable tucked away in Basjoe's. Another coffee was ordered whilst we RFR, the last one of the day for the walk back to the hotel. It seems that we can't walk from Basjoe's to Dam Square without a stop....yeah, you guessed it, a swift night-cap is called for at The Nes. I say swift because tomorrow we are off to Apeldoorn and Arnhem bright and surly in the morning.
I gulp a couple of Gulpeners (been dying to use that phrase), have a quick chat with DC, walk across the square, book a wake-up call at the front desk and the day is done.

This Tr is absolutely great. I'm amazed at your stamina. I'm 39. Think I'd last till about teatime on your hectic schedule then need a days rest!
Still it looks to me that you might be squeezing out every last drop of fun from the Amsterdam coffeeshop scene.
Can't wait to try the burger at the NES but might partake of something a bit weaker than 9% to go with it.
When you mention 'mixed' joints does that refer to mixed with tobacco or different weeds and hash all mixed together?
Finally did Amsterdam have any hash/weed left after your trip ended?

I'd like to clear-up this Leffe misunderstanding, it having been raised in an earlier post also.
As I stated in my report I had lost count of the number of beers consumed and I made my estimate of 8-9 based upon how drunk I felt at the time, e.g. wobbling around on my chair, slurred speech etc. Upon discovering that Leffe is an 8% beer I posted this:-

The pics were taken with a new camera I got for the trip....my first digital camera I might add
an amazing piece of technology that proved frustrating at times....to this old fart anyways And I left the manual of operation at home...boneheaded move.
