This is a masterful piece of writing Trad. Emotive, yet funny as hell at the same time. Certainly worth the lengthy wait between installments
Cheers man.

WOW....I am humbled by your kind words gentlemen. Many thanks.
I must say that I was a little reluctant to submit this report instalment, not knowing how it would be received by the 'younger' members....didn't want to appear as "some silly old fu*k wandering around lost, high and sobbing in his beer" Once again, thanks.

Hey Cisco,..... (Hey Poncho)
I believe it takes about an hour to an hour and a half on the train, easy day trip....and from personal experience "Take a map".....

P.S. I think the date setting on my camera is incorrect as I believe that the last post should have been dated :- Tuesday Jan. 19th.

Wednesday the 20th.
"The Penultimate Day"....
The first thing I thought of upon awakening was....'Shit, we go home tomorrow'.... :( :(
The routine of the morning (shower, coffee/Bailey's and RFR) is accomplished with-out much discussion or thought and before long we are puffing our way up to Popeye's for breakfast. LittleD has brought a note with him this time and slides it under the class table top before I put the grinder to work on a couple of grs of Kush, LittleD got more hash and was loading his pipe. As we enjoy our smokes and await the food we make a plan for the day. Nothing involving to much walking as my legs and feet are still aching from the miles I had waddled the previous day. Breaky is consumed as we talk of the fantastic time that we both have enjoyed and the sights we have witnessed. A couple more coffees and a great joint of Kush and LittleD's hash, a quick RFR and we're off.
Nothing strenuous....we stroll leisurely along the canals and side streets, puffing away like a couple of old stream engines, to HGF, marvelling at the architecture of this wonderful city along the way.
HGF?, Cheese Please :D (2grs), LittleD grabs a couple grs of Sour Diesel and we settle in for a few joints with our coffees. The grinder flashes, the pipe is passed and talk turns to how much we had smoked whilst here in A'Dam. We agree that it is a goodly amount but LittleD says "I think we could get a lot more smoking done if we get an apartment next time". Next time!!! We are sitting in HGF, puffing fatties of Cheese/SD and start discussing 'next time'....EXCELLENT!!!! We chat about the benefits of apartments over hotels and upon attempting to twist a joint I discover, to my horror, that the Cheese is missing from the table. Now I had noticed that pot had gone missing before and my suspicions immediately fall upon...... the grinder, as I believe that it had been eating our pot and that's why we had gone through so much herb. LittleD twists the last of his SD and hash from Popeye's and we head out into the afternoon sunshine and in no time at all, in fact so little time that we didn't even try to puff our roady, we arrived at 420. Nothing too strenuous.
Coffees, 2grs of SSH for me and a couple grs of some cream hash....perverti(?)....for LittleD and we squat in the window, a little grinding and rolling along with loading of pipes and we are soon set to watch A'Dam go by. I like this coffeeshop....the staff are friendly, attractive, helpful young ladies and the vibe/music are both good. Joints, pipes, coffee and time are all consumed at a fairly good pace and once again it's RFR and we're off to Basjoe's. This is the long walk of the day and we take our time to enjoy the last rays of the sun on our last evening in this beautiful city....along with a fat joint of course....
We are welcomed by James, who seemed genuinely saddened when we told him that this is our last night in town and subsequently, our last visit to his wonderful establishment. I have no notes on our purchases here, I assume that I got Bas Special and LittleD got hash of some nature....both being creatures of habit. The music, the banter with other customers, the great coffee, the fantastic weed/hash, the warm and welcoming atmosphere and the ever cool James combine to make this the best of times. Suddenly, hunger rears it's ugly head and becomes a most urgent requirement. RFR and off back to the hotel for dinner.
"None descript food, charging for the name/location" is what I have written in my notes about the meal. You can draw your own conclusions from that statement. We exit the hotel for our after dinner puff, something we won't have to do next time in an apartment, and complete said task with a waddle around the block. In consideration of the facts that we leave tomorrow and that we wish to spend our last day smoking, we head back to the hotel and do a bit of preliminary packing. Not a bad bit of thinking for a couple of guys after a week of being very stoned. This involves searching our clothing and luggage for any half bags of pot or hash....we find 7 in total, I have 3 bags containing weed of unknown origin and LittleD has 1 weed and 3 hash, one piece of hash was a fair size (looked to be more than a gr) for a let-over. These are added to the pile of half bags residing in the room safe. We pack all but tomorrows requirements, load our pockets with left-over's, RFR and head out for our last 'swift half'.
The Nes, of course you knew the destination, has that great aroma of high grade weed and beer as one enters, this evening was no exception. The seemingly only available seats are at the bar and they are soon filled and so are our hands, with beer. Joints and beer, good music and a great friendly feeling to the room...great last night. The pre-rolls are puffed so there are left-over's promptly produced and the grinder is set about it's task as LittleD loads and lights the pipe until it is way to hot to touch....he now rolls the hash into strings and they're smoked with the weed. One fu*king high old man that evening but we did manage to discard a few of those left-over bags....empty of course!!

We say our good-nights and our good-byes to DC and any others that cared to listen and wobble out of Nes for one last puff as we take the long way back to the hotel. Over a couple of coffee/Bailey's we dig up all of the half bags we have in the safe and pockets , there are still 11, so we decide that we had better get an early start since we leave at 1815hrs.

'Shit!!! :x We go home tomorrow' :( :(

I've chuckled at your kettle rage, got a lumpy throat at the tale of you making it to the place your father was stationed, & genuinely amazed at the stamina you have Trad. On page 5 at the moment & I have to say reading this has been an adventure in itself.

Looking forward to the next one mate :)
