Sounds good, which hotel was it??

my friends are visiting town and I need to find them a hotel in this area.
It was the NH Amsterdam Centre. And with that I am out of here.

I post what I know well. I post in an attempt to save people lots of money. People I do not even know.

But post here I will do no more.

Sorry for bothering you all
ahh stop being a girl bacsi!!
im sure i speak for all forum users when i say we all appreciate any help from any user, its just some of these threads are about hotels in particular, or general hotel help and priceline bears no relevence on the topic. sometimes we just dont wanna hear bout priceline, dont mean to say we want you to fuck off, unless you are a priceline spamhead!

If in doubt, have a spliff

Ok...

First off - Old Timer. Please don't take any offence at my comment, it certainly wasn't directed at you. I have stayed at enough 5 star places myself, and have often found that on occasion, shall we say, "a certain type" of person has reacted adversely to the apparel and appearance of either myself or my companions (on tour with a band, for example) upon checking in. The very fact that you post here and visit this fair city for the same reasons as I and many others here, should automatically exclude you from such generalisations, sir... and if you feel it was directed at you personally, then please accept my sincerest apologies!

My comments were prompted by the confrontational nature of one individual who had hijacked a number of posts with the same subject matter, over and over again. Picked up on, incidentally, by many others. I have no problem with people enjoying their creature comforts, and I'm sure that if the finances were available to me, I would enjoy a better class of accomodation too.

I could have been a lot less tactful and simply told the poster to "fuck off with his spamming ways", but what good would that do for the OP, FenixNYC, who just wanted some good advice rather than be told "I stay in much better places than you and I pay half what you pay!" I don't stay in cheaper places because I want "that experience", I stay where I stay because I know exactly what I want. For all the reasons already listed by many, many people, who actually seem to read peoples' posts. I simply justified my position and offered the advice I deemed to be pertinent to the thread.

I readily welcome helpful advice... and up to a point, the Priceline thing has certain bonuses if you like that sort of thing - however, hearing the same old tripe over and over gets a bit tiring don't you think? Especially after sniping at well known and respected long-standing members of these boards who actually do give decent advice. Running away crying with your ball after being shown a few simple truths doesn't do much for me, I'm afraid. Just as well there didn't seem to be anything more constructive to add to the mix...

The huge disadvantage of priceline bidding of course is not being able to pick your own location except within a very large circle ( or 2 circles in AMS case).

Whilst I'm looking foreward to resting in comfort at a decent price I'll need to hire a bike for the duration of my stay in all practicality. That and the hotels no smoking policy will be slightly inconvenient.

Location really can be vital for a hotel choice and sometimes it is all that counts. Having said that I really like the priceline bidding feature and consider myself to be a 'convert' now.

YOU WILL ALL USE PRICELINE BIDDING!

UNBELIEVERS WILL BE PUNISHED
