What's goin' on fellas?
Waited too long to book my room at GHE for 4/20 weekend and unfortunatly they only have rooms available that are out of my price range. Looking for some recommendations on cheap & clean hotels that have private 1 person, ensuite rooms and are also smoker friendly. Not looking to go the hostel route and the majority of spots I saw on hostelbookers.com & lovingamsterdam.com didn't really get me as excited as GHE does.
Hoping someone drops a hidden gem I may have missed in my research. Any help is appreciated.

Armada Canal View, never had any probs toking there, its down near rembrandtplein. (SP)
Aspen on Raadhuistraat (SP) was not smoker friendly but some rooms have balconys. There is also a fair few more hotels in the same building which also have balconys. Right behind Dam square and in the area near Paradox so its ideal for me.
Anymore come to mind i will let you know

Thanks, Kermit! I'll check these out.
I find it odd that GHE responded back to me that they only had a 130E room available for me but when I checked lovingamsterdam.com I saw Outer Space and Red Man both free........................hmmmmmm.
The shitty thing is those damn 25E booking fees using those travel sites.

Had a look on hostel bookers and they have no singles left for GHE? Suppose the sites are playing catch up.

They said they could only offer me the Mary Jane and that Red Light was already booked. I'm looking at Hotel de Koopermoolen right now but still shopping around.

A 25 euro booking fee? 130 euros a night for a room?
I just spent some time in a really nice 4 star....with a moderately large double room..... in a great location....Leidesplien... nice smoking room for 55 euros a night including tax etc.
You are on the wrong thread if you want the correct answer

How much do you want to spend for the night? Try maybe the corner house, you can get an en suite room there.

I'd say 90E a night.
I'm down to the Hotel de Koopermoolen, Hotel Vijaya & Hotel Luxer as ones that seem to have what I'm looing for and are available.
Anyone have any last second input? Probably going to do further research for another hour or so and hopefully book the hotel tonight and my airfare tomorrow.

I browsed a bit a few times but honestly the whole Craig's List thing scares me off, as there's always the chance I show up and there is no apartment or worse.
Just feel generally more safer knowing I have room at a hotel for some reason.

You can easily stay in the westcord for that and the rooms have a nice plasma too

The Abba is cheap clean and smoker friendly. They also have a nice free dutch style breakfast buffet and there is a albert hiejn(sp?) store under the hotel with a tram stop right infront of hotel. The only problem is the stairs, you got to go up one story just to get to hotel.

Can someone tell me why you ppl always go for the high price hotels?
what you ppl use these hotel for more then just sleeping? spend 1/2 the time in the room or what?

« all a room is for is SLEEPING no? and waking up no?
anything more then 50$ (37.50euro) aint worth it! « for me that is

cause i just use room to get up shower smoke leave come back to chat wit others or to either eat or sleep...!
so iv got 40-50euro a day more to puff away or visite stuff cities trains...
Get the picture?
