This garbage rarely goes on in the US, you know why? You never know who has a gun. Tends to keep that crap to minimum.

Wouldn't you rather have these chavs in prison?

There is a lot more respect on the streets in the US. I could not live under the type of conditions I read about (and I do take what I read with a grain of salt) with the Chavs and random violence in the UK.

Something is very wrong with parts of your society and I hope you can find a way to fix it. no offense intended here, but it sounds scary.

Marco, I 100% agree ( well, not about guns, more the problems with British society ) so I take no offence.

My one liner, was just that, a throwaway comment, ment in Jest ( but obviously, based on some truth )
I hope/think you knew that though.

Rather that than the high murder rate the U.S has. Not to mention the high incarnation rate.

90% of the murders are gang v. gang. People going about their normal business have almost nothing to worry about in the US. This seems to not be the case in the UK? Plus guns (and other things) maintain a level of street order you seem to have lost in the UK.

I do see how you would not want guns though, it seems these chavs will go extreme at any moment, if they had guns it would be a bloodbath.

I think its overstate mate. My potential doctorate is looking now like its going to be a Social Work based one, my readings has lead me to think its a result of the previous 90's hedonism and parents not wanting to give that up. Because of this we now have 15/16 year olds which have little parental guidance, this is what has caused the problem, bad parenting. This is something i experienced when teaching as well.

I would say the US has the best social issues, there are after all parts of big US cities which suffer 3rd world problems. No offense, im just saying that our murder rate is way below the US. But unfortunetly we have a monumentally stupid middle class who believe, unlike yourself, everything they read. The media has caused many moral panics, mods and rockers, 'black' muggers, Ecstasy and hippies. This is just a continuation of this. It shits people up. For example i was walking with my girlfriend last night, its important to add we are staying with friends where we used to live not in the mountains where we live now. Down the road our friends live there were a group of kids, chavs, and something was obviously happening, there were a big group of kids with cars being loud etc, and the girlfriend made us walk down a back road to get to our friends house.

Now this is crazy, she was actually intimidated. Who knows what would happen if we walked down there, but ill put money on the fact we werent about to get a kicking. I used to teach in town in question, its a little rough, its a big town with a hard drug and low employment problem. This perpetuates the problem, my girlfriend read the papers and is now scared to walk down a street. The media has alot to answer for.

Parts of England may not be particualy safe, but it is nowhere as bad as its made out at all. In terms of societies problems, the murder rate in America to me makes me think England is a safer place.

Mainly the same here man, alot of the London murders are gang based. Englands a violent place, its an island nation, we fight each other. Its the way it is. From football violence to mods and rockers. Guns are realtivily new to the scene in terms of it getting to the kids.

A few generations ago the most popular form of punishment was to tie the offender onto a gate dip his cock in milk and let a suckling calf do what comes natural......still sounds good to this day

Toker thats rather well thought out, in a sadistic way.

Gixxer : It's not like we are not taught to look after ourselves. However our society is not held to whims etc of groups of people who feel it is their right to inflict their law on the population. To me, thats a better thing.
