still struggle with the Iolite, just ordered an Extreme Q

Post by templeball »

Finally got the hang of my Ioloite now, and yes it does work and Ive got the hang of it, and yes I am getting stoned now, but Im not enjoying sucking hot plastic tubes all night and still struggle after a couple of hours of it to get to the higher levels......so just ordered the 2010 model of VAPORIZER ARIZER EXTREME Q V4.0, read the 1,000 of pages of feedback on Fuckcombustion.com (god that forum is hard work), and am now a very excited templeball and cant wait for delivery :D :D
It cost me 200 quid from e-bay, a lot loss than a Volcano, hope it works alright, the glowing feedback suggests it does work extremely well. After not smoking anything at all for a month (longest ive gone straight in 30 years), think ive kicked tobacco out the door now finally, I had a night on buds last night using a combo of the Iolite and thentwo neat spliffs, like being a sixteen year old stoner again, it was wondrous :) :) Girlfriend less than impressed because of the state I was in, blood red eyes and a stupid grin again, first time ive slept properly in a month though....

I will give a report of my new toy asap....

Yeah the local shops are trying to sell off the Iolites due to troubles at higher altitudes. The piezo (sp?) just doesn't like it above a mile, or so I was told.

Good luck with the new one man, look forward to a report when you get it stoked up.
Well my Iolite has just gone back for the second time with ignition trouble which is a real shame as I've given up the tobacco and was using it full time, maybe thats the problem. I dont really understand the tech aspect of piezo ign. whether it's supposed to go on forever or what. Anyway I am going to have a look at an alternative for use at home but I like something simple that I can use and put back in the drawer without tubes and bags around the place. So I'm looking at the Vapir Air One and I'll keep the Iolite for out and about if/when its returned. Oh and I live about 10 ft above sea level so no altitude problems here.
Actually templeball I've just had a look at the one you're getting and it's quite a neat little number, hmm now I'm confused, oh well time for some deep thought, my glass bubble vaps still working :)
What a long strange trip it is.

The Extreme vape kicks ass. I sold my Volcano when I got mine. It vapes just as well as a Volcano, with the added bonus of being able to use the whip, and the parts are standard size - the fittings will fit ground glass bongs so you can filter the vapor through your bong as well.

The only drawback is it's not as elegant looking, and the valves with the volcano are cool. If you make bags with the Extreme you need to hold your thumb over the tube so the vapor doesn't escape.

I got mine from gotvape.com, had it at least a year and a half now.

Anyone who tells you the volcano is better either hasn't tried it, or isn't using it properly.

I hope you enjoy your new vape, I heavily debated between the Extreme V-Tower and the Volcano but chose the Volcano instead about a year ago. The remote control with the extreme seems pretty cool and it is pretty versatile. The Volcano is a really great vaporizer but the price is really what kills it, I can't wait to hear about your experience with the Extreme.

The new-est I-olite has a metal mouth piece to stop that particular annoyance.

Ok, first usage report: Ive just had two days of pretty contstant use of the Extreme Q (the Q is the latests 2010 model, quieter fan and with the remote control) and im very impressed on the whole...

First the bag: ideal for one greedy person like me, forget sharing it, the fan fills the big bag up in a minute or three, and a setting of 190 degrees C fills it with vapour, 230 C fills it with smoke, preferred the smokier version, got more of a kick, more like what I am used to with my strong spliffs, know that its better to have vapour not smoke, but i still need a bit of convincing that this is getting me to the higher levels _ more on this in a bit..

Secondly the whip pipe, felt like a Bedoiun smoking a hookah pipe in a tent all weekend, nice hits, coughed when the fan was on setting 2, probably dont need to use the fan at all to be honest, got good pulls without actually anyway, just being lazy, and used the remote control even when I was sitiing next to the main thingie, lazy fat guts its made me already :)

Bud usage - I used Chronic as my test strain, It does make the bud last, no doubt, I would have used a lot more in spliffs, got several big bags or loads of pulls off one bowl, each bowl full requires a shake after filling a bag or after several pulls, but it still has lots more to give after each shake so one bowl was in effect lasting at least an hour or two of heavy usage...

Compare to Iolite, its a huge step up in quality and i was getting more stoned undoubtedly, and no more of those hot pipes burning my lips, so glad to have taken the plunge

I notice that the same guy that sold mine to me from e-bay is doing the 2009 model (tower extreme) for only 129 quid now, thats seriously good value, I can PM the link to anyone who wants it. He delivered within 24 hrs of the order btw, I was well chuffed.. (just got the OK from him to list his site, I went via e-bay, but his actual web site is www.vaporlot.com ).

But, and Ive got an awful feeling that there is no answer to this, I still cant shake off this paranoia that Im not getting to the final lock-down level that I was when I was smoking fat strong joints with tobacco in, a feeling that Im still not getting completely wasted,. I fear that this means it was the whole combustion/baccy hit that Im after still, that Im chasing a high that was coming off the tobacco not the bud, so tough shit in other words if I want a tobacco-free buzz...reading other peoples feedback on the fuckcombustion site they go on about a cleaner high, I suppose that mean I have to adapt my expectations, and i would agree that I felt a lot less spat out the next day after hitting it all day/night Saturday.

Even happier now than I was before with the Q Extreme, got some Lemon Cheese by good fortune last night, put it in the machine, two bags later I was in bliss land. Woke up on the sofa at 3am, so something went right last night...The lemon cheese tasted beautiful (thats one thing these vaporizers definately have going for them, you can really taste the flavours in the bud ) - fruity citrus on the lips after a good pull on the bag, lush. Better than tasting that tar from tobacco on the filter...So, im getting there.....have to reccommend the Q 100% really now, its clearly an issue of getting the temperature just right and getting the right buds in the bowl...im a happy stoner now, and still no fags and a good hit so the Q was a good investment...
