i will be making my 5th visit in march...i always stay near weteringschans on the southern end. hotel kap. i love the area; just across from de pijp, which i think is the best place to hang. the museums, coffeeshops. the walk to center is an easy 10 min. leidsplein is 10 minutes the other way. the university and botanical gardens 20 min. over amstel. and always nice to come home at night.

Only just seen this thread...........but Excalibur in the Red Light District is owned (or was at least) by the Dutch Hell's Angels.ItsCashed wrote:Any biker bars in Amsterdam? lol
I'm by no means a biker myself, but i love the bar and music they play (rock/metal). Always felt the staff in there are real friendly!

Is Rock Planet in RLD still open does anyone know?
As for favourite areas, I like walking around the Jordaan but I just like the whole buzz about the RLD - it's just a great laugh.
Oh does anyone know if any of the peep shows have M/F shows or are they just all birds?
Cheers!
I do recall reading somewhere that there are live sex shows (M/F), some with audience participation in the RLD. Where I couldnt tell ya.bridget wrote:Oh my god, I am there! Casa Rosso, don't get yer hopes up too much tho, it's a bit crap, but it's a giggle. 5 or 6 short routines- M/F, F/F, F etc.bridget wrote:Oh does anyone know if any of the peep shows have M/F shows or are they just all birds?

If it is peep shows you are after then i only know the main one on the OZA canal (near the Casa Rosso) which i have seen both m/f and just f 'performing'. But i wouldn't class them as good lookers by any stretch...and i would only go there to show a friend for the gimmick.
The Casa Rosso itself can be fun...i had a memorable experience for sure when i went with 6 other friends a couple of New Years ago. I think it was around €40-50 each and that included something like 5 small beers (or single shot drinks) which wasn't too bad.
As mentioned, it is 6 continuous 10 minute shows repeating every hour. The two i remember the most was the 'banana show' and the 'dominatrix show'......no prizes for guessing who was dragged on stage for both those shows!....

LOL!! glad we sat in the pews to the left of stage. All the girls in our group were "wearing" remote controlled love eggs and the lads had the buttons! Every few seconds you'd feel a vibration thru the bench, one remote would set them all off..class.
have to mention the asian male performer with his cowboy boots on, that's a look not many can carry off....including him.

Anyhoo, on topic...
When it's warm, in Vondelpark, past the cafe and over the bridge to the left. Years ago we found a spot on the grass that seemed to get the sun right up until it set. As everybody else in that area of the park had to move to avoid shadows and stuff, we just sat and let the world come to us, didn't even have to get off our arses for beer. God bless the rasta on the bike....
When it's cold, window seat by the pool table in stones cafe...

He didn't appear to take the same precautions i would before having sex.
