Look at this review..
i have just come back from the dam hotel with 7 friends. On our last night we had someone break into our room whilst we were fast asleep in the room. The guy stole a number of items from us and escaped via the fire escape. After looking at the cctv in the morning at reception (after a heated conversation with the receptionist because she would not let us view it) the guy actually entered from the outside of the fire escape.
The hotel were less then helpful and said nothing could be done so basically go away!!!
This totally spoilt our stay in Amsterdam and would not advise anyone to stay there. Anyone could walk in off the streets into the hotel. i advise you to pay a little more and stay somewhere that actually acre about there customers! Apart from that we had a big mop in the shower, so once we turned the shower off we had to mop away all the water because it did not go down the plug. The light and plug sockets were also hanging off the wall showing bare electrical wires!

To be honest you get what you pay for and it's not like everyone isn't aware how much street crime there is in dam. You can't expect to stay somewhere nice all round for 20 something euros a night.
