How's it goin?
I got a question for you locals and/or visitors with good memory. Is there a Vodafone retail store in amsterdam? I assume there is; when I search vodafone on google maps I get 3 locations but none are accessible to streetview so I'm not sure if it's actually a store or a vodafone office.
I'm looking to pick up a prepaid SIM card as soon as I get there and needed to come to the store and pick one up. If there is more than one store, which one is closest to the train station?
Thanks for any advice!
EDIT: Nevermind! "Vodafone winkel" means vodafone store! (Damn my inexistent dutch language mastery). This is the closest location I found to the train station; would anyone be kind enough to confirm?

Thanks again

I have an iphone 3gs with a compatible SIM card / band module. When you're coming from the states, using my regular SIM is damn-assed expensive.
To me, 9.50 euros is worth unlimited wireless access for the time I'm in amsterdam. I'll get GPS (with the ability of dropping points of interest), google maps (find any CF or location), internet, translator, skype to call home (Jailbroken --> can use it over 3G), etc. without ever having to buy minutes.
If you're saying there's a cheaper service provider that lets me walk in, buy a SIM, pay a 1-time fee and use high speed internet on my phone, please let me know = ) I searched all around and t-mobile was the only other viable choice.

Ah I see what you mean. If def. a good idea to not use your US SIM.MPSRuo wrote:I have an iphone 3gs with a compatible SIM card / band module. When you're coming from the states, using my regular SIM is damn-assed expensive.

But is your Iphone unlocked?
There may be other internet SIMs but I do not know. I will ask around.
Yeah, I'm lucky enough to have a jailbroken one. When I went last year with a buddy of mine, I had accidentally updated my phone and lost the unlock (temporarily) but he was good to go. We had no problems using a t-mobile netherlands SIM, but the lady didn't bother telling us we could get data. Instead we paid about 10 euros for text / minutes which did come in use.
