Can I still buy weed in Maastricht?

Myself and 3 friends will be travelling around europe in June, we intend to visit some coffeeshops in Maastricht. As this is a border town is this still possible for non-dutch citizens?

I visited a coffeeshop in Maastricht years ago but times have changed...

I passed through there in December.. Cool Runnings (cheese haze) & Kosbar (AMG Haze) the best two places to check. Also Club 69 does good Jack Flash and Citral if they are on the menu. If driving beware of the local border roads. We didn't get pulled but twice now I have seen police roadblocks with dogs etc...

Cool so it doesn't sound like it will be an issue.

I will be driving, having a bit of a roadtrip. 2 cars 4 ppl and 2000 miles. We should be going to Maastricht first straight from Calais to pick up some stash for the journey, we'll be staying in Maastricht overnight then heading to the Nürburgring in the morning then off to visit relatives.

Thanks for the heads up about the border control. I have had bad experiences at the border before so I will be sure to be careful!

be aware of the German border police...! Don´t take the Autobahn to Aachen. There is a large police-station at the border and they "scan" the cars driving by. If you fit their "profile" they might "chase" after you.
(I would say, that a British car with two young men comming the way from Maastricht do match the "profile")

I would recommend the way south via Belgium (Liège/Lüttich). It´s not a long way round (aprox. 40miles more), if you´re planning to go to the Nürburgring. Comming from Belgium there is no clue that your car is "loaded with stash"!

Or pass the border at (high) noon when the policemen having lunch! ;-)

excellent advise, also do you think its safer to cross through Vaals? maybe walking across would be easier & meeting up with the car once crossed border?

I don´t know... we always drive through Belgium to avoid provoking unwanted "police action"... I would generally not use the Dutch-German border when comming from the Netherlands. It´s like "being an easy target".

Getting to the Nürburgring from Maastricht I would take the E25 southwards to Liège. Then heading to Saint Vith via E40 and E42, crossing the border on the "Autobahn", then taking the first exit that´s leading to a bigger road heading to the direction "Nürburgring".

Being two young British men travelling through Belgium to the Nürburgring for improving their driving skills isn´t very suspicious, is it? ;-) Way better than passing the Dutch-German border at a big, fat police-station at Aachen... just in my opinion.

Bushdoctor - thanks for the good advice, I had an incident in Calais once which I don't wish to repeat so I will be taking the detour through Belgium. I checked your route on the map & will def be following it in July.

If we are questioned then the cover story is true, we will be going to the 'ring to improve our driving skills, I'm fortunate to drive an M3 and I'm guessing it will be a blast. I've been there before but not in the ///M.

The stocking up in Maastricht is for some planned lazy days with family in the black forest, it would be a shame not to enjoy the trip to the fullest ;)

I'm planning a little trip myself to the ring june/july time in my recently purchased 5.5 V8 Kompressor merc 8). Some great advice here will take the above route for sure.

Just got her delimited, pulley upgrade, and reflash, try my hardest to clock the 200mph haha :lol:

Mad Evo - your merc is a beautiful car, You'll have a great trip it's built to eat up those miles I bet it will be a real pleasure to cruise at 140 on the autobahn.

Pauli- are you serious? Those evos are great track cars indeed but for daily use they are a bit vulgar and no replacement for high quality german engineering. Whilst the evo and sti are really fun cars many people inevitably upgrade for refined power in German high performance engines power which is brutal nonetheless, - If anything just to appreciate and enjoy the incredible detail that goes into their design & manufacturing process.

I think I may have revealed my other passion!

im a big fan of jap cars m8, german cars are great cars, but like the top gear guys say, they just dont have the heart of italian & english cars,
