Itchy cough after smoking

Post by Cudi_420 »

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. Mods - feel free to move appropriately if need be :)

I've been smoking weed for a few years now, probably since 2007. I don't smoke tobacco at all and I'm 23. I've never smoked regularly: I might smoke every fortnight.

I initially never had issues, but the last three times I've smoked, I've ended up with an itchy chest and cough for about 4-5 days after the weekend.

I understand this is merely smokers cough and is unfortuantely one of the many consequences of filling your lungs with smoke, but I was just wondering how ya'all deal with this if you get it?

Any smoking methods to reduce it?

I roll my own and smoke joints btw. Not sure if that makes a difference.

I have been toking for alot longer and dont have that cough, have you had it checked out?
Also do you do your own bud or buy in? If you buy in have a good look at it to make sure it aint sprayed with shit. It causes this problem.
If not i would get checked out by the Doc

This is often caused by smoking week that is moldy or was moldy at one point. Use a scope and instect the weed and be sure theres no mold as this can cause some serious health risks. If the weed truely is mold free maybe try a water pipe/bong or vape next time.

I smoke every day, for almost 20 years now. Never had this problem. Its probably a problem with your stash.
Why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly?

I get the itchy cough thing if I smoke from a Pipe, Bong or a Joint. That is why I use a Vaporizer. I just have to watch the heat setting so I get more vapor then smoke.

Well, it may have something to do with the fact that Melbourne has been incredibly dry as of late. Major busts all over the place, and a lot of people are keeping low. It took me a while to find someone who had anything.

Not sure if its a problem in Melbourne, but like Kermit said you could of picked up sprayed weed.

It was (and to a certain extent still is) all over the UK, fortunately I can still get plenty of import :P

make sure you're drinking enough water. for me, sore/itchy throat is the first sign I'm dehydrated. This is aggravated by smoking, and the 2 problems feed eachother... resulting in a nasty sore throat.

btw, I know what you mean about Melbourne (its my hometown), its almost impossible to find decent weed on the street. I went home for a while after being in Holland for a few years... everything I found was totally brown, overpriced, and tasted exactly like dry grass you picked from your lawn.

Eventually I made contact with a friend of a friend who grows White Widow, about the same quality as basic Dutch weed (relatively good!)

Theres a shitload of stoners in Melb, so the good stuff is definitely around, you just have to know the right people (who grow for themselves hehe)
