Amazing stuff! Thanks for sharing the photos. It looks like a great hobby to have in the middle of winter.

Allright I'm impressed. Somehow I was expecting one of those Airfix models. Those photo's look more real than the real items themselves in some ways if you know what I mean. How do the competitions work? Does everyone start with the same model 'base' as it were and the real work come in getting the painting right and that is difference in winning and losing?

Good stuff, liking the miniatures. I used to be in to all that, models, painting and that. Won quite abit of product through painting aswell. Not on your level tho, just a 14yr old warhammer level

Think a trip to Eindhoven, Nijmegan or Arhnem is in order, would be cool to check the bridges, and sample some herb outside of Dam........ Bridge to far, what a film :)

Monday October 19th 09 Amsterdam

We are off to Amsterdam today Yee-ha ! Woke up early and down for breakfast I have not been feeling 100% since yesterday sore stomach and burping egg !!??? , I had been playing up the night before for a laugh saying “my tummy’s too sore I need to go to the hospital” anyway were up n about fairly early with plans to get the train about midday ish ! So get all our stuff together go down and check out settle mini bar bill etc . I was asked if I would like to settle my hotel bill with the card I had used to reserve my room ? No thanks I shall pay cash ! Now this is where my sixth sense kicked in ! I just knew there was going to be some sort of problem but more on that later !

Out and about in Eindhoven during the day , it was the first time I had really seen the city during the day although I had been in Eindhoven since Friday I had plans all day both Sat/Sun so first order of business find a post office so done that no problems we have a stroll around then hit the station . We go in get our tickets then outside to smoke our last Eindhoven spliffs !

My sore stomach came on with an vengeance on the train to Central Station , thought I was going to spew a few times feeling very queasy . I even gently got a carrier bag out my bag just in case ! I did not want to look like the typical tourist no respect for the city , throwing up drink , drugs and all the good stuff ! Well if I was being sick for they reasons hey ! But not when you are ill ! Just when I thought I was going to let rip and go to the bathroom I was only one stop away from central , and did not want to risk missing my stop !

Off the train to a nice sunny day manage to keep it down and off we go into the Amsterdam sunlight we were to head down to meet the guy for our apartment . Quick look round the Red Light first ? Just as we were walking round the corner (from warmoesstraat to The Old Church c/s )I burped and whoosh there it goes some projectile vomit ! Holy shiznitz this is what I did not want to happen ! Still with luggage and im yakking in the street (im sure I was feebly muttering “nothing to do with drink or drugs”) lol ! That was awful ,extremely embarrassed we made our way to The Green Place where I bought a G Lemon Skunk €12 fruity taste even through the spew burn ! Lol !

Then off to the apartment 1 I cocked that up as well we were staying at the Kaisergracht Apartments but they have studios on Spuistraat and that’s where ours was !! Doh should have read the booking properly ! Off we go passing Old Amsterdam on the way few other places but that sticks cause I aint visited it before (still not !) so we get to the apartment and the guy couldn’t open the door !? Standing in the street for a while he posts us the keys through the letter box and we open the door , into the room . Now this is where I go mad for a while the room is nothing like the photo on the net im saying to the dude “I aint coming to Amsterdam to be stuck in a room” anyway eventually calm down with reassurances and phone numbers if we have trouble ! Phew what a start to Amsterdam !

That’s all for now cheers

MMM where do i start ? its not like you suggest , there are different categories ie 1/72 afv basic kit 1/72 afv detailed as in added detail etch brass , plastic card , metal barrel etc this goes on with all cats , single kit , figure , diorama all shows are different and you are basically trying to catch the judges eyes with a unique well painted model !

So we get settled in to our new apartment/studio its actually pretty good despite my moaning ! It was only €70 a night (I checked it recently to book again and its now €140 pn!?) no doubt we had a spliff then out we go for our second coffee shop in Amsterdam . First c/s we head to after our apartment woes (drama king) is Home Grown Fantasy , I knew from recent threads that HGF was not selling Cheese at the moment so I was hoping for their Sour Diesel as it was a favourite strain of my June/July trip. Alas none of that either so settled on Silver Pearl or Bubble (I believe the very strain that knocked M4M on his backside ?) not bad weed , tasted ok but for me not a knockout (however this was not my first puff in Holland so!?)

Went for a stroll round the RLD before heading to c/s 420 for a M&G, as you do . Nothing catches my eyes nothing I would pay €50 for that’s for sure !

Headed over to 420 bought a G of the Blueberry €8 left a bit to be vaped , dude comes over hands me the balloon and I suck it down double quick ! The bud tender commented “that was fast” !? Eh not when you have not been feeling well and want to get in the zone ! Lol ! I noticed Spidergawd coming in (recognised from a photo from his cycling exploits) so he comes down the back and we introduce ourselves , turns out Willjay and Socrates Friend had been sitting there all along ! All nice people , im sure most could not understand me half the time (seems to happen a lot with Scottish accents I find ) well never really hung about long as still not 100% nice to meet you all and look forward to the pleasure again sometime !? Oh random memory ; don’t think anyone else mentioned it ? While sitting in 420 a big group of people came in , as if on a tour or something ! Turns out they were some sort of EU commission I think ? Maybe someone else can shed light on it ? Spidey ?

After leaving 420 we headed to Albert H for supplies for the room (one behind Dam Square) back to the apartment freshened up a bit then of to the Grey Area , I was looking forward to some East Coast Sour Diesel ! Alas none ! I bought 2G Chiesel €24 looked really nice , tasted juicy fruit best taste yet ! Also G Headband (no price in notes) tasted kinda sour very tasty !
Image

Leave there on the hunt for food , the renowned Burger Bar or should that be Boner Bar ? Lol ! MMMMMM Kobe beef with onion , bacon with fries washed down with a fanta we sat in this time , I usually just take away ! Went for a stroll to walk of dinner wound up at Greenhouse RLD G Chemdog €11 ! We just went back to the apartment after that smoked a good few spliffs watched some mind numb on the box . I can sort of remember waking up / falling asleep about five times all while trying to roll a fat one ! My mate said he was pissing his self laughing , the funny thing is I allegedly rolled that sucker fine in my stoned sleep/stupor ! Classic

Well that’s all folks day one in the Dam a blot on my mind and now on this page !
Peace be with you laters
