Amsterdam Coffeeshop Directory Forums

We are staying on Gerard Doustraat a few steps from the tram stop for the Albert Cuyp Market. We are staying down here because my wife loves to cook and the market offers fresh food daily and our apartment has a full kitchen. Our favorite coffeeshop from our last trip, Katsu, is in the area as well. I went to many shops in the centrum area last time and will offer a few of my favorites. Greenhouse, Barneys, and Dampkring on Harlermerstraat all will provide you with quality smoke, but are a bit pricey and feel touristy to me. The Dampkring on Handboogstraat is much better. My wife and I love the local feel of the De Pijp area and there are LOTS of great coffeeshops in the area. In De Pijp, Katsu, Carmona, Media, Yo-Yo, and others offer some killer deals on great green. As far as where you are staying some of my favorites in the centruum area are HGF, Green Place, Amnesia, 420 Cafe, among many others. I also must recommend that you try Hunter's, as I plan to on my next trip. The owner is on the forums and seems like a very nice guy, who loves his profession. The NYCD in his shop is bordering on legendary. Regardless, have fun and I would love to T&T if possible once I get into town.

Thanks so much for your suggestions on shops to try out. It is so nice when couples share the same love of the herb and to have a wife that loves to cook when you smoke -- one word AWESOME

We'd love to meet up with you guys ! Our B&B has internet too - not sure if you guys have computer access in DAM ?

We will have internet access while there. We should definitely set something up closer to our trip.

I'll be there from the 12th to the 26th, flying my lil brother in on the 15th and he's staying until the 24th. I'm sure we all could agree on a mutual CS for a T&T. We'll be staying in an apt near Central Station

imho reading this document is the very most important preparation you can do to ensure your own safety in amsterdam traffic, because being hit by a bicycle could ruin your day ...
