T&T

Post by Chowderbone »

Howdy fellow May visitors! Me, wife, 2 buddies and wives, and a London cousin will be visiting Mokum May 9-17.

Some staying in lower Jordaan, others in duh Spui. Some toke, some don't. Me and the guys who do are always up for a meet and greet.

Thinking of doing a T&T on May 11th - wives will be in London and i didn't see another T&T for this date. Or did i miss it?

Not sure where for T&T. Someplace different? Off the touristy underbelly? Open to suggestions.

Rokerij IV? La Tertulia? Basjoe? Green Place? Katsu (one of my top three shops from last trip 2004)?

25 days to arrival. Hope to meet up with many of you fellow May visitors.

More plans as we get closer.

welcome Chowderbone !!!

We'll be arriving the 11th - getting into town by like 11 am or so.

I'd love to check out Bajoes early in our trip - seems like a good place from all the reviews - but I'm really up for anything :)

Hey Newbie!

Just listed a T&T for May 11 at Basjoe, from 420pm til whenever we feel like going somewhere else.

Can't wait to taste some of those famous Basjoe goodies!

Hope to see you then,

Chowder -

Sounds good to me the 11th is our first day so if we aren't sleeping off our flight ( 8 hour red eye) we'll be there :)

its a shame you've sorted out plans mate i find it really hard to stick to them and ive been going half my life. making a list sort of drives me on, you'll get so mashed its not even funny, if you go for the best coffeeshops and bud. not trying to put a downer on it. my best trip was my first trip without a doubt. just stay clear of bulldogs and grasshoppers and your have the best time ever. Toke & Talks are great, met some great ACD members but it very easy to miss them i would say its worth seeing if gapie will come to one (bribe him with drugs) for some tips Hes a sorted Bloke.Burger Bar is a must right near 420 coffeeshop ( i would give my left testicle for one right now). Nescafe is a must as well for a nice drink and smoke in. if you feel brave pop into Haarlem. definitely go to de pijp area and Vondelpark if its a nice day. Just dont forget you are going to get so wasted and take it slow

Stuart, I just read your message and must thank you for the great tips. It's my fourth trip but most of what you say rings true and Burger Bar sounds juciy good.

I sort of disagree on the matter of planning. I love to plan massive amounts of things to do, for all but the last ttwo days of the adventure. What else can a person do to while away the months and years between trips?

Thanks!

Newbie,my wife and i will be in town may 12 to 15.We usually hang out at Green Place,Amnesia,Club Media etc during the day(except for the wifes shopping time),then head to Nes Cafe after dinner.(Hotel next door :) )Happy to meet you guy's for a smoke and a chat.During the day probably best as by night time (smoking alone, wife doesn't smoke herb)i'm not always able to hold a decent conversation lol.ps i smoke tobacco mixed joints so have to sit in the seperate room (in the shops that care) but usually in May the weather is pretty good so we try to sit outside and watch life go by.If there's no t and t posted that we will both be at,i'll pm you closer to the time, see if you fancy it.Whatever happen's ,enjoy your trip, nothing like your first time in A'dam, unlike yourself i couldn't do any research 10 yrs ago on my first trip and went to some real crappy shop's,bars etc.I'm sure, having done your homework you will have a memorable(kinda)trip.pps Try and keep your plans general, even now i always have a list of shops/weeds to try and never seem to manage it,time can slow/speed up sometimes, never yet have i completed the places i meant to go to,don't worry about it,go with the flow, always next time :) Peace
