Try Frederic Rent a Bike on Brouwersgracht. It's a couple blocks over but about a minute walk.

I was going to stay there but changed my mind only because Hotel Abba includes breakfast and has a TV in the room. Frederic says that he puts out a bowl of outdoor homegrown in the morning!

Yeah, I was pretty intent on staying there and communicated with Frederic several times via e-mail and once by phone. I love when people start talking in Dutch. I have no idea what they're saying so I just speak English like normal and they start speaking English back to me. Great people, not like the bloody French who could probably speak perfect English but act like they didn't understand a word you're saying. But I digress.

Anyway, Frederic has a guesthouse with a few rooms I believe in the same location as his bike rental (next door maybe). Only 3 rooms and one has its own bath so you would only share with one other room. Decent prices, but nothing fancy. He's also a self-proclaimed foodie and loves to recommend restaurants.

Yeah I've looked at stopping in their apartments/boats a few times but never got around to it, all good to know for the future though - cheers.

If yer looking for cheap n cheerful (ie. not going with the missus), try hotel my home , haarlemerstraat 82.
Has bongs, pool table etc. and you might not even need to leave the hotel to pick up quality smoke.

Just thought, my info may not be current, as i last stayed there in 03, still worth giving them a ring though.

It amuses me that the addition of a 'missus' would cancel out such a budget accomodation. What a romantic ;-)
