What's up my fellow open minded people.

Post by hjd2023 »

Just wanted to introduce myself. I have been browsing this forum for probably over 2 years now and finally decided to join so I could partake in the discussions about the thing we all love so much=weed.

I have been to Amsterdam 4 times and I am heading there again with my beautiful wife on the 19th of March, staying until the 22nd(posted in another thread that I would be there until the 23rd, wrong date), then heading to Munich,Germany to visit my best friend for 4 days.

I fell in love with Amsterdam the moment I stepped off the train back in December of 1997. My buddy, who came to school in Chicago as a foreign exchange student, and I started our journey in Munich were he lives. He is originally from Turkey and came from a family of judokas, so we clicked right away due to our love for anything that is martial arts.

The first coffeshop we ever walked into was the Grasshopper in Dam square. LOL we hadn't a clue what was a good coffeeshop or a bad one at the time. We stayed in this shithole hotel a few doors down from were NY Pizza used to be in Dam square. I believe it was in a different location than were it is now. Anyway we had a blast, at the time I brought along 1200 dollars I saved from working as a carpenter. Back then that 1200 dollars took you pretty far in Amsterdam at the time. I believe I got 2.56 guilders to the american dollar back then, not exactly sure.

We cruised coffeeshop after coffeeshop smoking ourselves silly, and then I ran into a mushroom shop in the RLD. At the time I was a know it all douchebag and when asked if I wanted mellow mushrooms or the ones in the bag that had skull and cross bones on the baggie. I told the guy I wanted the strongest ones he had and explained to him how I've eaten tons of fungi and acid before. He was trying to explain to me that you eat these particular type of mushrooms one piece at a time to see how they would effect me due to there potency.

My buddy and I split the bag in half and consumed them all at once. BIG FUCKING MISTAKE! To look at these mushrooms one would think since they were about the size of a toothpick(width and length) and jet black with a tiny little head the size of a match head, that they wouldn't be that potent. I have never tripped so hard in my life. Like I said I have done tons of psychedelics at this point of my life but nothing compared to this( I once ate a cap that weighed 9 grams so I thought I could handle anything after that). The visuals were so intense it was awesome. We walked around for at least 10 or 12 hours in awe of everuthing that is Amsterdam.

Seriously one of the best cities this world has to offer. I've been all over the world and I can seriously say that I have never experienced any conflicts whatsoever while in Holland. The people that inhabit this country are amazing. From my experiences very open minded and helpful. When I went in 08 my friends and I set out on foot to find the Taco Shop and the Botanical Gardens so I could get a bunch of pictures in there butterfly exhibit for my daughter who was four a the time and infatuated with butterflies. We were staying at the Flying Pig and I must have asked at least 20 people along the way about the taco Shops whereabouts. Not one individual shunned us.

That says alot to me about there attitudes on foreigners visiting there beautiful city. Sorry can't stop rambling. Anyway it will be my wifes first time to Amsterdam/Munich and I am very excited for her. She doesn't know what she is in for, this city grabs a hold of you and permanently stays with your thought until you return the next time. 2 1/2 more weeks till we leave can't fucking wait. Bringing 2 grand and a set of lungs that took down 3 ounces in 4 days the last time I visited.

You sound like you're going to have an awesome time fella. Greets and salutations! As you're older, no doubt your tripping days are over but that doesn't mean fun still can't be had in AMS.

Welcome to a fellow stoner and procrastinator. Enjoy the Amsterdam/Munich vacation with your wife.

Maybe, maybe not for some of us "oldsters".

My tripping days still flare up once and a while, only with fungi though. Nothing beats hiking and fungi in the woods during the day.

Ur a better man than I. Maybe once in a while, the mad urge to shroom seizes me, but it passes just as quickly, with the aid of a spliff. BTW, I have quite a few grey hairs myself in theory.
