Jamali (the best hand rub in the world?)
I havent posted here in a while. Been real busy sampling some of the best the Uk has to offer. Been travelling up n down the countrysides, visiting various links in various cities... ended up in some very nice places, and some places I'd rather forget tbh. But hey, I have to ask myself - Is all this green/hasj hunting worth it?
I've spent a lot of time, and money, just sourcing out good stuff for my own medical needs. It's ridiculously expensive. And at times I was close to giving up, but that was more the exception to my predicament. having good friends who go out on a limb to get you the links is well appreciated, they wont be reading this but hey, they deserve thanks here also.
Anyway, this post is turning kinda long, so am gonna attempt to get to the point.
I friend had called to tell me that some Mazar-E-Sharif was in his personal possession. This legendary and rare hasj has been as elusive to my hunts , more so than anything else...
So off I go, Lancashire - got to my friends place, and was welcomed by the warm, sweet wafting aroma of a very fine blend. Man it was old skool, and pure quality. Words won't describe here, the sensations I experienced when I walked into his house. I knew I was about to schmoke something that would make it difficult for me to leave Lancashire, for the long drive back to London. I wasn't wrong.
Have you ever schmoked something that made you feel like a child? not mischievious or troublesome, but innocent and uplifted, justified and happy that time seems to have froze? It happens to me after a lot schmoking, but this mazar-E-Sharif got me like that on the first 3 tokes. I kid you not... I had to put the joint down. That was a mistake, my friend thought I didn't like joints so pulled out a ROOR bong, and loaded the bowl with some lovely slivers of the hasj... Bonged, the flavours got me schlomping* the roof of my mouth to prolong the taste. Wow, this was better than anything I had in Amsterdam!!! The high was instantaneous, and noticably mellow, yet strong. Initial precursors to the buzz were sensations of light massage above my brow and around my temples. I was already feeling very relaxed and now needed a drink, a glass of chocolate milkshake with some ice was perfect. So I asked how much for a half of the MES, and was told a price. But he told me he had something even better, I told him he was crazy - that "there was nothing reputedly better than the Mazar-E-Sharif" hasj, and boy was I wrong.
He came back with a block of the oiliest, blackest, loveliest block of hasj, around nine oz block, with the word JAMALI written in arabian text, just the "Ein, Meem, Laam and Alif" (Arabian letters, E, M, L, and A) were visible from the cut, this was embossed into the hasj and also covered in gold leaf. I wish I had a pic to show you, coz it was a work of beauty, I tell ya! Anyway, I remained skeptical after schmoking the Mazar-E-Sharif as to date I had come across nothing better.
So I asked him to prove it, and he cleaned the bong and loaded it with some slivers of the Jamali hasj. We didn't light it straight away, he asked me about my health and stuff, and we got talking for a bit. I'm glad we did, this is when I realised that the mazar-e-sharif is actually quite a sociable hasj, although it leaves me stuck to the couch too. I was already effed up and was enjoying the chat. Stoner talk. Drifting from one subject to another, then trying to retrace converstations lol. I made a joint of some Jorges Diamonds that I had bought with me, and lit up. And he proceeded to light the bong. I smoked a few puffs of my joint and passed it to him, and he passed me the bong. I sparked up and inhaled the Jamali for the first time. Hands down it was better than the Mazar-E-Sharif, and I felt bloody lucky that I was right there, shmoking two impressively amazing hasjs'. The taste from the jamali, its' potency and hit were just so good, they were worthy of being presented to a King. I enquired as to how he came by this stuff and was told it was by sheer luck that a cousin of his from Pakistan managed to find a way to get it here and he got some form him. Awesome LOL. I wasn't expecting that. Either way, I asked him how much he would sell me and was told, maximum an ounce of each... that will last me a little over a month, but now I had to ask how much, he told me - it was reasonable and I paid up. I stayed for a while though, we were enjoying our banter, and had ordered pizza as I had not eaten anything the whole day. My appetite had been stimulated thankfully, the hasj did that really well. I have trouble feeling hungry as I'm often on edge, anxious, or stressed. But yeah, I was enjoying our banter, and pizza arrived, we munched it, and I really felt like the drive back would be a chore. He was kind enough to offer me the sofa but I really did have to get back to London, as I had to work the next day...
Feeling significantly sober as I hadn't toked anything for over a couple hours now, I decided to jump in the car and drive back, I stopped over on the outskirts of Leicester to visit a family member, and ended up staying the night. However, I didn't manage to get to work the next day, and got flack for that... pulling sickies lol
Anyway, I'm on my last bits of the Jamali, the Mazar-E-Sharif got schmoked first, I saved the better one imo for last. I wish I had a proper camera as my phone cam is crap and wont justify the pic of the lil bit of Jamali i have left.
Has anyone else come across the Jamali? I never heard of it until I came across it recently, and I am very very very impressed!

TD, this hash sounds amazing. Good skills on the hunting, you seem to have struck gold!
Never heard of Jamali before, I have heard of Mazar-E-Sharif however, from friends who have visited Pakistan and scored there, mind-blowing stuff as your post attests.
Great review of 2 strains I've never had the fortune to try.

Ah, cheers guys - i sure was touring and whoring around all over the country. I'm not even gonna begin to tell you how much my calculated spend on travel alone was. At times, I actually considered vistiting Adam again, but hey - that woulda defeated the purpose of why I had set out in the first place - To locate the best the UK has to offer. Yes, I know it's impossible to cover everyone, and I didn't even cover a percent of a perecent in those terms. But in terms of time, effort and money spent - damn I think I good.
I got some nice weed/skunks on my missions too. Some excellent Blue Cheese which hit like the White Rhino , and some Chronic - this stuff left me thinking I could hear my phone ringing, when it clearly wasn't lol
Anyway, I'm off next week to get some more Jamali, and I will defo post some pics of it this time. I'm gonna borrow me sisters camera (it's a good one)
Anyways, I appreciate your comments here, will check back late tonight to see what's transpired since now.
Ciao my fine toker buddies
catch you in a jiffy pot

The first rub (deemed the best) doesn't go very far, it's like commercial growers who smoke wouldn't sell the best (cola) off the plant.stew1974 wrote:depends who's doing the rubbing and who they're related to in the uk so it is possible but not common.
Dont get me wrong theres a good chance it was very good quality but stating it's the best in the world isn't right, to be fair I've looked and the word Jamila and hash dont bring back any results, surely if it was that good others would of known about it?
Being pedantic and knobbish since 1972
I tried a Google search too, with slight name variations and came up with nothing.Boner wrote:Dont get me wrong theres a good chance it was very good quality but stating it's the best in the world isn't right, to be fair I've looked and the word Jamila and hash dont bring back any results, surely if it was that good others would of known about it?

Boner, I do agree with you - and normally I would make no such claims but being an Indian, and having had the pleasure of smoking the hand rub, straight from the peelable resing glands which were rubbed off my jeans, and rolled into balls and smoked, I can honestly say the Jamali kicked it. I also had Bawa-Gota, a hash which is guarded jealously by some Sindhi types, these guys are nutters. I paid 150rupees for a small oz block in India - this tasted like sweet hash, with overtones of saffron - amazing, the high was superb too..
But the Nepalese I had in India was seriously good - there were 3 grades available, and I bought the best there. It was the best of my trip to India, but hey - I gotta say, the jamali must be a rare as unicorn shit hash, coz even I hadn't heard of it til last week. And I make no false claims when I say it was better than the stuff I had in India, and Adam... that to me, in my experience - is the best in the world I've had, so far, until I am proven wrong... and yes, that would be a good thing
as it means better hash for me right? right!
And yes, My belt is loose, so loose - it serves as a whip in kinky sex games

Hey TD, nice write up. You've a very thoughtful, contemplative style that's very relaxing. I knew some of the stuff about dialects and the Taj Mahal since I've always wanted to visit India or Pakistan, but it's good to have someone provide a framework. I'm still learning about these exotic Asian hashes, so of course, that's useful as well. Have you ever tried the Mazar-I-Sharif from Katsu? It's the only place I ever seen it offered, and I would like to know if it's worth buying. TIA.
Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

Yo Titus, been a long time buddy.
I never knew that Mazar-E-Sharif was offered in Katsu... Damn, I was there as well. Gah. Bloody stoner mind of mine probably never even noticed.
And er... Sir Niall, Sir, that was a cheap shot, but I don't mind. You've obviously missed me bud

Good to hear of you're return. Off topic but slightly related, attended my first Hindu wedding friday night, dude, you indians love to eat. I was force fed Samosa's and all over kinds of very nice food all night. It's the first time i've had to take a taxi home from a wedding without alcohol being the main contributer!
I hope you're connections has left you with a heap of appetite stimulating meds man, and LS doesn't smoke too much of it.
