Never smoked before

Post by Rothbury »

Hi everyone. Been browsing these forums and the site for quite some time now, finally registered.

Never smoked weed before. Off to Amsterdam around april/may for a few months. Figured thats the best place to go if you want to be in a cool environment for a first timer.

Peace :)

"High" and Hello
Amsterdam is a place that you can smoke without fear of arrest, however a cool place is with friends were you feel safe and comfortable. Check out the forum and have a great time, but "Be Careful Out There". A T&T at a coffee shop in Amsterdam is a comfortable place with friendly people.

Ok, I'll bite. The way you're approaching this trip is unconventional to say the least. You seem to be intent on beoming a smoker even though you've never smoked. May I ask why?

BTW, welcome to the board.

I can see where you're coming from, and I'll admit it seems kind of strange.

But I've never known someone who smoked who said "man that sucked", they almost always say "man that was the best thing I've ever done".

So since everyone else seems to enjoy it, it seems like something I'd enjoy very much.

May I offer some unsolicited advice? Take especial care where your first coffeeshop experience will take place. Try to find somewhere nearby where you're staying and make a mental note of your route. My first experience in the Dam reduced me to a quivering pile of protoplasm. Trying to navigate back to my hotel on rubber legs was a bit nightmarish.

On that note, have a great time! :D

This is something I've taken into consideration. I'm still looking around but I know I'm booking an apartment somewhere around Centraal for around 2500 euro/month so it shouldn't be too far from most of the coffee shops. Of course I've never been so I don't know the exact locations of the coffee shops that people have recommended, Amnesia, Dampkring etc, but I'm sure I'll figure it out as I continue planning.

If Dam is going to be your first smoke make sure you keep a bottle of water with you and don't go crazy and end up whitying.
