every time weve been weve lifted our money out of cash machines outhere weve never told our bank before travelling. But if i was you youd be better to check to make sure you can use it abroad in certain machines and also if there is a charge for doing so. My wife is with nationwide there is no charge and also you can use all major bank cash machines with it.

i don't live in the uk but I travel alot and i have never NOT called my bank and cc company to tell them im going abroad. i always do. my amex got froze once and i believe my bank card did too. they are just cautious and i'm glad. once my atm card got de magnitised and i had to call my bank and they sent me a new one with the quickness. my advice call them. takes like 3-5 mins out of your time per card and its better to be safe than sorry when going abroad.
